Hello all, i just have a quick question,

i have been doing quite alot of study over the past 4 months in regards to what is truth and what is not, i have not been apart of any Church since i was 10 years old, i have been to a few different ones, but i have never felt at ease in them, quite the opposite, except one church, it is a non denominational church full of older people and it is lovely, they worship on a Sunday, i have been a few times, and it is not like any of the churches i have been to, just lovely elderely people who sing the old Hyms, and read from the word of God. But since reading about Sunday worship and the Sabbath, since there is no Messianic Jews places of Worship where i am, would there be any harm in me going to this church of a Sunday just for fellowship?? and praise in hyms? as i have no Christian friends, and noone who i can talk to and share Gods love with, and i desperately want to fellowship with other believers. if i could get some adive it would be much appreciated.

God bless

milly83 If you keep the Sabbath of God, but attend a church on Sunday, it does no harm.

I go to church on Sundays. My husband is the music worship leader there. But on the side, I search and I study...and I come here.

I am also blessed to have wonderful friends who enjoy engaging in discussion. We had the most fabulous discussion tonight for about four hours! One of us was athiest, is now more Egnostic verging on Christian beliefs, one of us is Christian with doubts, one of us is Methodist with a very open mind and then there's me, the one who has just decided to finally pursue this path my heart seems to be leading me down. I consider this fellowship and I learn so much from it! Though we have widely varying beliefs, we talk a lot about facts and how we've each interpretted these facts.

My point is, I think there are many definitions of fellowship and if you feel like you are adequately able to worship and learn about God and Jesus, then you are in the right place. I love those old traditional hymns myself!

You may be being called there for His purpose. If you feel comfortable there and can worship the L-RD, go in peace and when given the chance , share what you've learned, but let him guide you as to when and if the time is right.

There's always us here to, 24/7 to fellowship with and ask questions!

:)

Yes that is what i was feeling, i have felt that he is sending me there for a purpose, for the sheer fact that, they do not stress there beliefs on you, they worship him, and a lovely people to talk to, i just had this feeling because i have not quite finished my study about the Sabbath and sunday worship, i was not too sure weather Sunday worship of any kind would be wrong.
i am very much looking forward to talking with you all on here, as i do have many questions and need help, i am only coming back to God recently, after a long time away, :-)

The first thing you need to remember is that you are never alone. You may be or feel isolated at times. But always remember that God and you (his child) are in the majority (when opposed) and you are continually in fellowship with his Spirit who dwells in you (when you are feeling lonely). And of course you are always welcome here!

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Our problem as new believers or as believers who are just a bit set in our ways (a typical human condition we all possess) is that there are so many "voices" that cloud our judgment it is difficult to distinguish the voice of the Spirit of God from the rest. But there is a sure fired way to learn how to... study and learn the Bible with a vengeance.

Observe:

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try {or; test} the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

And the way to test the spirits is:

Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

2 Timothy 3:15 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

And since the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible...

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Pray the Spirit of God enlighten you illuminating the word of God (I would suggest you do so every time you read the Bible or listen to it on ipod / cd).

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Hope this helps. And as the others have said, you can always fellowship here. There are some times we may squabble or fuss with one another but it is with Christian (Messianic) brotherly and sisterly love.

Welcome, Milly!!!

we are Messianic, my dh is a Jewish Messianic... G-d has called us to the middle of the Pork Bible Belt ;)

needless to say there are darn few of dem Jews 'round 'ere, much lessins' any o' dem Masonic (Messianic, to you and me) churches (synagogues to you and me;))

G-d has planted us in a Baptist community in which we fellowship, worship on Sunday and teach Jewish Roots on Tuesdays... we also keep Shabbat and the festivals and don't participate in the Christian traditional festivals ... it is not the comfortable easy walk it was in so many ways when we lived in the State with the *most* Messianic Synagogues (literally hundreds) but it is where He has planted us and we find we are growing in many ways as well as planting and watering and nurturing others in the calling toward truth and knowledge G-d has laid before them ....

it is nothing, if not interesting... LOL B"H

wow, that is so interesting, how do you find it going to the baptist Church, if you don't mind me asking, i only ask out of pure of interest, as i never knew that that is what worshipers did, i mean because i have my faith i thought that i may be doing something wrong if worship on a Sunday, as i have not yet got any answer from God yet.

dh and I have been in the Messianic Movement for over 20 years... we have been in many MJ synagogues and communities and have studied under some of the machers of the movement and have ourselves been teaching for quiet a few years ... it was not until recently (about 2 years ago) that G-d moved us out of the immediate physical MJ community and up into where we are now (Hills of North Carolina) :)

we can and do worship any day, every day, of the week - but only the Shabbat is the "Shabbat of the L-rd" ;) there is a notable difference between the two, and a few similarities

any and/or every day is a good day to worship, to fellowship, to do good works - but there is only one Sabbath, the Seventh Day as ordained by G-d :)

we are currently attending a congregation of Baptists served by a Hebrew Christian pastor, a g-dfearing and loving man who seeks the face of G-d and service to His people, Jewish and Gentile :D
