My dog is a communist, so he ignores the fast.

LOL!

Mine are forced to endure the entire fast without any meat or dairy.

My rats are vegetarian and so do not care.

The cats have informed me that they are protestant and will continue to eat meat.

My dogs would like to protest, but Tikhon being a Puppyarch has come to the conclusion that he is unable to protest.

Our cat is a communist and does not adhere to Christian Principles!
The Dog eats pellets of unknown origin... so she forgoes the fast too.
Only the birds are vegetarian.:D

^_^ I think my four dogs will be fine, as they eat anything that drops from the table or kitchen counter, such as onions, lettuce, tomatoes, uncooked spaghetti noodles....so I don't think they'll be hurting too much. :P

My dogs eat everything I feed them, but they LOVE meat. And yes, I am contemplating getting dog #4: an English Bulldog! :P

n.b. onions are not good for dogs. Other than that, my dog gets mostly raw mets, veggies, other "natural" foods. But no onions.

Wait....am I a week early? Am I still allowed to eat meat this week?? I've been fasting from that - and was on to the next week of only eating dairy....lol

Nope, you're right :)

It's cheesefare week - no meat, but we can still eat dairy. In celebration of that fact, my Priest bought us all icecream on Thursday night at biblestudy/fellowship/indefinable group. It was hot too, so icecream was very much appreciated.

The worst bit is trying to get food on the run. Vegetarian, fast food, at 10:30 at night? HA! We ended up getting salad rolls from Subway (we missed dinner as we were late)

Well - for my first Lenten fast - (with the guidance of my priest) I'm still eating fish (of all kinds) - so for me, I can go get a fish sandwich and fries at Wendy's ;-) or for a late night dining out - you can get milk-free, egg-free, meat-free food at Denny's lol (several kinds of shellfish, plus the fries ;-) ) Really not healthy - but it follows the fast

Denny's doesn't exist here, unfortunately. Oh well.

Oliver is supposed to weigh about 18 pounds max, and he is about 21 right now! His gut is SO huge I can't see how his little 11 1/2 year old legs support him!

what? who is abusing who? ... ah did I miss something here? I think it is okay to lower their food intake and buy a diet dog food which BTW pay more to get her....
And she is under vet care....
It is parental concern... :P would you want your kid to be overweight? no ... well she is my baby... and I love her too much... to see her dying from cancer or heart problems...

Sorry Michael... but I disagree... It is okay you put them on fasting will help them with the diet too...:)

I think it is ok to put my dogs on a diet, but they seem to disagree with me and are very willing to bark their disagreement at me!

Hi Orthod good to see you ... have a great Lent :)

Cats on diet ...hahaha only shrimp please today .... and on Palm Sunday they can have tuna....:P

Michael if you can put your dogs on fasting... you can put them on a diet...:pink: What will they do ??? picket lines... ^_^ no chance of that they are not Greek dogs... they do not go on strike...hehehe
Mine sits under the table while we have dinner but she never beggs as he has never given food ... I am a good disciplinarian when ti comes to dogs ... .but no to kids...

she looks for food through the kitchen floor and I do feel sorry for her... but my vet suggested it since she is cooped in during winter and she is not active.. in spring time I will increase her food..:)

I do not think she realy "suffers" I try to play with her and she sleeps most of the day, anyways.
