The question in another thread is why are men called to be ministers?
And the point is well taken. But in fact ought to be stated "why are men called to lead in ministry?" Because all believers (both men and women) in Christ are called to be ministers. This is generally obscured by the structure of most Churches and Synagogues. "The ministry" is the preacher / rabbi in the pulpit...
True, but only in a small way. "the ministry" is what all believers are called to do according to their spiritual gifts and calling.
This was known in ancient times which brought about the titles in Christian dominant nations of Mister (minister) and Missus (mistress / ministeress). Which was presumed to appl;y to all in that Christianized culture.
And though there be certain stipulations about spiritual leadership in the ministry, no one is considered better than the other. In fact this is what Paul addressed in 1 Corinthians 12. The foot is just and vital as the nose as is the hand and the eye in the body.
