Good evening friends
I eat the same lunch almost every day. I pack a cooler with a diet coke, a small bag of wheat thins, a non fat yogurt and a sandwich usually deli ham, hard salami sliced cheese and mustard on Italian bread.
So, what is in your lunchbox?

Lunch? What's that? Oh, that must be the diet pepsi and soft pretzel or apple I grab at work, or the carrots/crackers and cheese or other snack I have at home during the day sometime. It's not a meal I pay much attention to.

I often have a late breakfast and then an afternoon snack, and miss lunch completely.
Longhair, it sounds (from your daily lunch) like you're a creature of habit :) Are you?

Most days, Japanese-grill: shrimp on beansprouts and sliced cabbage. It's hard to get organized enough in the morning to brown-bag it, though that is one of my goals for this Lent. I actually got some turkey-sausage grilled up yesterday, and stored in the fridge to take for lunches. But today I had a business lunch so I didn't take any, and then my colleague emailed to say he was home sick, so it was back to the food-fair for the usual Japanese grill.
Tomorrow is another business lunch: sushi this time too.

I like this Thread. Well so far our Lady Pmj winns the health award with her lunch. May I appeal to all this 'Diat Coke etc" please read the ingrediance: it's cathastrophic. right down the numbers of the preservetive and Google up what it realy is: it's killing you, no wonder people getting cancer and so on. How can you let this come into your body? So please have a normal Coke.
For my own lunch I have mostly fish. Tuna or Salmon with Buergen Low GI bread. Also think about it, this fish have no preservative added, an other plus. Why? Because this fish give us Omega 3, a very, very important nutrient we need. Why you ask? Because of our imune system. Omega 3 and omega 6 are part off our own anti biotic. The problem is we get plenty of omega 6 out of our meals - but not enough omega 3. The result: if there is an imbalance of omega 3, that means not enough, our own imune system attacks us: called Athritis.

I miss wheat thins! Can't find them here... :(
Often my lunch consists of water, a sandwich (chicken or ham) or a wrap, sometimes crisps (potato chips to you yanks!), sometimes fruit - banana, grapes, apple or a clementine, a biscuit or two (cookie), some chocolate perhaps. Or sometimes I will have leftovers from the night before to heat up in the microwave if it's a chili or a curry. Today I had quiche though.
I hardly ever have coke, diet or regular. DH has it everyday.

Ooh, sounds delightful lol. I LOVE wraps.
Hehe, you've picked up the brittish vocabulary, have you picked up the accent as well :P
I love brittish culture and have actually wondered if i may end up there some day. But the lack of so many american goodies may be an obstacle lol.
*smuggles you some wheat thins*

It differs every day for me.
Today I'm probably going out and treating myself and grandma to a italian assorted sub and a tuna sub respectfully.

Hehe, back when i worked for the cable company, i used to have this chicken wrap thingy with ranch dressing and a load of veggies. GOOD STUFF.
I also worked once at a coffee and bagel place, and they had awesome paninis.

I like this Thread. Well so far our Lady Pmj winns the health award with her lunch. ...
But remember -- or perhaps you didn't know -- I've been in treatment for obesity for the last year and a half.* Drop-dead healthy low-carbohydrate fat-free lunches are literally a matter of life and death for me.
I don't drink the regular Coke, either. Sodas aren't served in our household (the dear husband serves himself: he is a Pepsi addict, and a grown-up, so he makes his own choices). I do drink Fresca on occasion as an alternative to eating something unhealthy when I have cravings. I've researched the artifical sweeteners rather thouroughly through medical papers (rather than popular websites) and so far they test as safe -- whereas sugar consumption is a known, certain and direct factor in obesity -- which has already directly affected my health. So I personally choose to risk the possible negative affects of aspartame instead of the known negative affects of excess sugar.
*I tried to find a picture so I could show you all how wonderful recovery feels and looks -- but there are no recent ones on my website. I'll edit if I find one!

Oh, I loved chocolate topped digestive biscuits when I was in England one summer!:yum:
And Norbie, thanks for caring, but I know all about the nails that rust and carrode while in a glass of Coke or Pepsi. Like Pamela's husband I am a Diet Pepsi addict. I have successfully cut down on my intake over the years but I can't cut it out completely.
I'm going out for a late lunch/early dinner today at a place called Bilbo Baggins and will probably have a char-grilled shrimp ceaser salad, freshly baked bread and a glass of wine.

Tomorrow (Friday), I'm going to make a delicious "double tuna" sandwich with tomato and lettus with some chips (that's POTATO chips for your silly British folk who don't know the difference between real chips and french fries :-P) and dip on the side with perhaps a dill pickle and a glass of strawberry-kiwi juice.
Incidentally, while at lunch today, I found out that the deli/subshop actually carried margarita-brand pepperoni. I was absolutely stunned: it was the only brand we would buy (being Italian and all) because of its exquisit taste, texture, and spiciness when we still lived in NY (and for the last five years, we had an Italian Deli literally just 2 minutes up the road there too), and we've been looking everywhere for it down here in SC.
Thank God this place carries it, and cheaply too! We're going to pick some up tomorrow and use it once the boar's head (which is good, but no margarita) stick is done with.

On Fridays, I do not take my usual lunch. Today I had an Italian cold cut sandwich from a shop shop called Jimmy John's with salt and vinegar chips and an iced tea

My special lunch is on Saturday. We have Pho at the Viet restaurant outside the do-jang. Multiculturally Asian.

I was away for the day on my course at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield, and we had a lunch of baked potatoes with beans, salad, fresh bread, and a fruit and cottage cheese salad. We also had an apple and ginger crumble. It was very nice.

We didn't go to Pho Lan yesterday: in the end we needed to hurry home to let the chimney-sweep in. I made meatballs with noodles for lunch.
Today we have friends coming for after-church brunch. We will have fresh strawberries, turkey-sausage, fresh-baked sticky-buns, and (ta-da!) Simnel cake.
