Thank you all for your prayers. My car is most probably totalled. I have a really bad headache which the doctor said is due to muscle strain in my neck (whiplash). My girlfriend has a sore throat from her muscles tensing before the car that made an illegal left turn in front of us hit us. Thank God our injuries were not any more severe!

I am glad to hear that you and your girlfriend are (mostly) all right. Sorry about the car - I hope the other guy is insured.

WOW.............I am glad you two are doing good. I hope you will recover from the whiplash. I got it twice from being rear ended and still go to the chiropractor for treatment (twice a month, but soon to once a month). If I didn't, I would be miserable :( I will continue to pray for you both!!!! :crosseo:

LOL! I do need to write an icon of St. Irenaeus of Lyons, but that will probably not be written until this summer. Right now I am working on St. Olivier d'Anconna (think about the name of my dog), St. Gregory the Theoologian and still working on St. George. I am also teaching my student to write an icon of Christ Emmanuel.

I am ok. I am still a little mentally shaken over the accident, but my body is fine.

In discussing the car crash and the minor depression that set in from Tuesday until last evening Fr. Stevo commented that I should pray prayers of thanksgiving that God would allow me to begin lent in such a manner!

I think Fr Stevo (?) is right.

One thing I've been picking up from Chesterton is how life is a gift and to (really) realize that things could be other than they are. I get that with my head - now it's a matter of getting it to my heart. Just hope I don't have to go through nasty things just to learn that lesson...

No matter how much you get something with your head, sometimes it takes being godsmacked to get them with your heart. What I went through for a few days after the car crash was emotional hell and not a pleasant experience to learn at all.
