All it takes to be saved is to accept Jesus as Your Lord and savior.
However, there are things that we like for someone who has been saved to do.
-Baptisim (if they have never been)
-My church has a class for newly saved.
-Become member of church (my church also has a class for new members.)
As far as I know that is it anyone else know of others in the UMC.

Just to add some verses to what overnight posted:

Romans 10: 9-10:
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

I would add:
-acknowledge and confess your sin
-pray for forgiveness of that sin
-ask Jesus to come into your heart by accepting his death and the blood shed for your sins

We believe that Jesus Christ, by His sufferings, by the shedding of His own blood, and by His [meritorious] death on the Cross, made a full atonement for all human sin, and that this Atonement is the only ground of salvation, and that it is sufficient for every individual of Adam's race. The Atonement is graciously efficacious for the salvation of the irresponsible and for the children in innocency but is efficacious for the salvation of those who reach the age of responsibility only when they repent and believe.
