Writers Wanted

Our CF Newspaper, Forum Focus (http://news.christianforums.com/christian-news-1), has openings for writers and there are multiple areas that are available to write (see here (http://christianforums.com/t6777275-forum-focus-staff-and-openings.html)). We're looking for writers in our congregational areas, so if you like to write devotionals, or to write about congregational news, please consider either one time or monthly articles.

Please consider writing for the paper, either one time (submit here (http://christianforums.com/newthread.php?do=article)) or make an application to join our writing team (find here (http://christianforums.com/t6690047-newspaper-application-2008.html)) and write monthly! Writers do receive blessings if their articles are published.

I've been writing since graduation from UNF in 1980, but I've not ever worked for blessings. In fact, I don't know what this blessing system is all about.

I suppose I should have read something about it prior to joining; instead, I just dove in and started scribbling.

Could you please explain to me what blessings can ultimately lead to?

Hi Dave,

Blessings is CF's form of money. If you will notice the character that I have to the left of the top of my message, I purchased this with blessings. I buy clothes for the character with the blessings that I earn or win (blessings exchange (http://christianforums.com/f247-blessings-exchange.html) is a forum here with games to win blessings). Blessings can be used to play games in the arcade (at the top of your screen (http://christianforums.com/arcade.php)), and as vle shared, can be used to adopt and feed a pet (again, look next to my character, you'll see my virtual pet, Molly. I can buy food and toys for her with blessings. Blessings can be given away to members just to say you care, such as in the new member's section, many veteran members will bless new members with blessings.

What do you like to write about? I have a regular column I write for, and then if I want to, I write articles about anything that is on my mind. It could be on sports, parenting, a Bible Study that you really liked - to review it, about current events, hobbies, pretty much about any forum we have here, would encompass the opportunities to write.

We really need people who would write about congregational news, inspirational writings, etc.

Just because we don't have a current column listed, doesn't mean there isn't room for it - maybe we just haven't thought of it or had anyone interested in writing it. :D Many times I write about issues that don't have a regular column, but they are interests that I have. Then the Editors have to decide where it fits best. ;)

My favorite thing now is parenting. I could do something that sort of chronicles things that I learn along the way. My son is 16 months old and he teaches me stuff all the time.

Thanks for the explanation on blessings. I will have to spend some time finding the links for purchasing a character, etc. Also, I'll give some thought to writing. It seems that just about anything Christian related is okay. I'll keep in touch,

Look at the top of the page - there is a box that says Character in it, right under the Control Panel link. That is where you'll find all the links for characters, and character's clothes.
