Yizkor Candles

Question

Do you light them?
If so as a Messianic how come?

As part of our regular service Friday night I will be teaching
the congregation about Shavout and it's significance.

I thought to perhaps light the candles but rather than pray for the dead
which I will not do I thought to spend the time in prayer for peace in Jerusalem
and those who have been injured.
