Is there a way to get blessings, apart from posting on threads and people giving them to you?

It's easy. Go here (http://christianforums.com/jobs) and choose the job that reflects your post count. Each week, go to that link and click 'collect salary'. The blessings will be added to your account.

I was curious and so I clicked on the job button and now I have one :)

But my question is: what is my job? Do we have to do anything special, or just post as we normally would? Do we receive blessings by post? By day?
What is expected if anything?

You don't need to do anything special to earn the blessings :) All you have to do is go to that link every 7 days to collect the blessings. When you have a larger post count, you can move up jobs as well by leaving the current one and choosing the new one that relates to your post count (will give you more blessings)

Ahh, so I guess this means im unemployed untill I get 100 posts?

Oh, and what exactly do the blessings do? I've looked everywhere for a description!

Blessings are CF's currency; you spend them like money. As of now the only thing you are able to spend blessings on is your Living Avatar (Quick Links > Edit Avatar > Living Avatars). However, once more features start coming back to CF you will be able to spend your blessings to play games in the arcade, purchase more expensive items for your Living Avatar, and purchase gifts for other users. :)
