View Full Version : Hey, look, a new forum!
A New Dawn
6th February 2008, 12:31 AM
So this is what a fellowship forum looks like. :D
I think that we all could stand to get to know each other a bit, so here's some stuff about me.
I am a nurse (by career), I worked most of my career in a pediatric hospital in NYC caring for kids with cancer and other terminal illnesses. I have 2 kids, both girls. One is in college and one is in 3rd grade. I have a husband, a parrot, a gecko, a cat (who is now an outdoor cat that I rarely see) and a bunch of fish.
I make quilts for wounded soldiers who are unable to return to their units and are recuperating in military hospitals in Germany or the States. (I posted a couple of pictures in my blog so people can see what types of quilts they are.)
I'm sure there is more I could say, but I'd rather read what others have to say about themselves.

As a retired Soldier still working for the Army -- Thanks.
I saw a wounded Soldier today, without legs, out running in his new artificial legs. I am sure that he, and others like him, are eternally grateful for your thoughts and efforts.

Cool!
Dawn, thanks for your post. Thanks, as well, for your selfless deeds. As an Air Force member working half an hour away from the main military hospial in Germany (Landstuhl Regional Medical Center) I can say that it is the support of people like you that helps us out. Those that have benefited from generosity such as yours have no words to express their thanks; usually their tears of joy are sufficient.
So, I thank you, on their behalf.

Okay, to continue the trend, here's some about me.
I am 21 going on 22, and serving in the Air Force, currently in Germany. I forecast the weather for the AF and Army, and occaisionly the Navy and Marines. I will be leaving Germany in late June for my new assignment at Ft. Campbell, KY. I look forward to the change, and the physical closeness to my daughter.
I am married, but will be starting a divorce next month. I have done everything I could think of to try to make my marriage work, but my wife simply does not want to continue it, and I still do not know why. We have a beautiful daughter, Kyrie, that is 7 1/2 months old. I've only seen her for 5 days out of her existence, and really miss her.
While a member of the Church, I am not the most active, and am far from perfect (or a Utahn). I am trying to get myself to get back into the groove of things, and look forward to going back to the States to help with that, as that will allow me time away from some people here (good people, but not the best of influences).
Anyway, now that I've rambled on long enough, let's hear what other people have to say...

OK My turn :D
Currently in college but it'd going slow because of cost... I'm 25 going on 26 real soon. I like astronomy, aviation, geology, zoology, computers, art, 3d art, and computer games. I also like doing board games, puzzles, hiking and music.
I love Scci-Fi and fantasy and am a trekkie.
