Hi, everyone!

I just got an mp3 player, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good Lutheran (preferably LCMS) podcasts to download. I've already subscribed to the podcasts for the Lutheran Hour and various KFUO programs. I was wondering if anyone had any others they liked to listen to.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Here's a link to some sermons. It's not technically a podcast, but they are in mp3 format.

I have already downloaded some of your sermons. I need to get back on the site and download the more recent ones. The last one I downloaded was the Epiphany sermon.

I was very impressed.

I actually came across that yesterday on iTunes. I downloaded a 30-part overview of the Lutheran Confessions with Drs. Charles Arand and Robert Kolb. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, though.

Thanks to all who have posted suggestions. I'm open for more if you think of any. I have a 2 GB mp3 player to fill.

Wrestling With the Basics

The Lutheran Hour

Crossfeed Religious News

A Prairie Home Companion (I realize that Garrison Keillor is not a Lutheran, but Lutherans do seem to love him.)

A Prairie Home Companion (I realize that Garrison Keillor is not a Lutheran, but Lutherans do seem to love him.)

He was originally Plymouth Brethren, but was Lutheran much of his life. I believe he is now Episcopalian.

Already subscribed to Issues, Etc., and Wrestling With the Basics, as well as the Lutheran Hour.

I will have to check out Crossfeed.

I did just find, and am currently downloading, some of Luther's sermons from SermonAudio.com. There are 8 sermons in all: "A Sermon on Christian Will" and "The Bondage of the Will" #1-7.

So he's a heretic then? ^_^

Are those sermons in English or German?

They just finished downloading so I had to check one before I posted.

They are in English, but is a computerized voice reading them, so it sounds like they might not be too easy to listen to. I'll give them a chance, though. In the meantime, I'll be looking for better recordings of the sermons.

Edited to add: Upon listening to the sermons again, it is only the "Sermon on Christian Love" that is read by the computerized voice. The series of "Bondage of the Will" sermons are read by a human voice. It is divided into 7 parts of about an hour each, going through the sermons in order.

Another note for those interested: I found these sermons on iTunes.

Hi!

I just wanted to recommend some podcasts that I have found in the past week.

http://www.thesixpodcast.com A podcast by an LCMS pastor in suburban Detroit talking about how to live the Christian life in the 6 days between Sundays.

http://www.superaveragepodcast.com "Four regular guys talking about everyday faith." Two of the guys are LCMS pastors. One (Dion) is the same pastor who hosts "The Six." The other pastor (Joe) serves a congregation in Denver.

http://lutherandifference.blogspot.com/ The Lutheran Difference is a panel discussion about what it means to be a Lutheran and how the Lutheran church makes a Christian Difference. Podcast is produced by Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Palm Bay, FL.

I have also been listening to the White Horse Inn podcast. http://www.whitehorseinn.org/
