Does anyone know what music is used during Divine Service in Europe? I ask this question because I recently read something about the Anglican tradition of having all male choirs with bass men and soprano boys. Does the Lutheran Church have any traditions like this? I know we started congregational singing and the like, but do we have any unique musical traditions?

Depends what period you're looking at. During the period of orthodox Lutheranism, for example, there was the tradition of the chorale cantata being blended with the Divine Service, culminating of course with Bach.

The Confessional Lutheran Churches in England that I attended didn't have an extensive choir or musical portion of the service. They use the same hymnal we do and other than a nice trumpet accompaniment here and there, it's just like home.

The Anglican cathedrals, however, have organs that Mel would salivate over. ;)

I'm thinking modern day European Choirs. Like do they do the whole boy choir with bass adults like the CoE?

I don't think many Lutheran churches would have boy's choirs.

4 part congregation singing started with Luther and in the Lutheran churches. The Scandinavian choral tradition is particularly rich. The St.Olaf choirs are some of the best in the world.
