IamRedeemed
26th January 2008, 01:31 AM
My Grandpa is in ICU, he suffered a stroke
and is now paralyzed on the whole left side.
He can't speak either and a blood clot in his
head was discovered and drained earlier today.
He is 86 years old and his name is Adelo.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and God bless!

Is he close by that you can visit him?

Thank you brother Jim for your prayers. He is out of state unfortunately, but my Dad and I were discussing a road trip today and if we do, we will leave tomorrow or Monday and head up there, if not, (as my Dad thinks he has the flu and we don't want him to bring that to Grandpa), so if my Dad can't go, then God willing I intend to go anyway by airplane then.
It seems my Grandfather had a fall two weeks ago in the facility he is at, and the staff did not have him checked out. The reports from the surgery says the clot was from an injury he sustained about two weeks ago, so it seems there may be some neglect involved here. My Uncle and Dad are already starting an investigation on that.
I will be back in touch once I know and let you all know. Meanwhile I appreciate your prayers.
Have mercy..... :prayer:

IamRedeemed,

Continuing to lift you and your family up in prayer. I work in medicine and it is sometimes hard to tell if things that go on in the brain are injury or not.

When my mother fell 2 years ago she had 5 bleeds in her brain. We know that some were caused from the fall, she fell backwards striking the back of her head on the cement sidewalk.

What was hard to figure out was if she possibly had a stroke which caused the fall or if all 5 of the bleeds were from the fall.

No matter which caused the injury to your dear Grandpa, just know that your sisters and brothers in Christ are lifting him up to the Great Physician/healer.:prayer: :prayer:

Stay strong in the Lord and may He give you and yours the peace, comfort and strength you all need during this time.

Love in Christ,

I want to thank you all for your prayers.
My Dad, Aunt and myself left for Georgia on Monday, and Grandpa went home to be with
the Lord before we could make it to the hospital. We still had about 2-2.5 hours left of
driving before we could arrive.

I am still in Georgia right now. We had his services last night and then his body was
shipped out of state this morning to be buried with my Grandma.
We have family on the other end that will be there for his committal service.

I plan to be back home sometime this weekend, so I'll be in touch again soon.

God bless you and again thank you all for your prayers.

Love in Christ,

I want to thank you all for keeping us in continued prayer.
Some of you may have missed my update, that my Grandpa passed away.

But your continued prayer is very much appreciated. My family is doing good.
Through it all, there were many ministry opportunities,
and my Dad has even begun praying again. Praise the Lord!

God bless

We are doing fine thank you so much. My aunt (Great Aunt), my Grandpa' sister who drove down with my Dad and I were talking on the phone yesterday, (she is a year older than my Grandpa) and she was joking that she was going to be next in line, and I said to her, "no, you can't go yet, you have to suffer here a little longer with the rest of us!" ^_^ and be both laughed. We had a nice convo.
She is going to visit her elder sister (my Aunt) for 2 weeks who is 90. She was the eldest of my Grandpa's siblings. Grandpa was the baby brother.
My Aunt who is 90 still travels, she dresses hip, and is as sharp as a tack. That is one of the reasons that my Grandpa's death was such a tragedy. Despite his age, family statistics show he had a few good years left had he been given prompt and proper medical attention.

But I thank and praise God that he is in God's care and I will see him again.

So, how are you doing? How are your family?
