Is this the right place to ask this?

Recently, we've been seeing a lot of debating going on in the Singles Forum, despite there being a forum rule that indicates no debating.

Since quite a few of the members want to be able to debate amongst their peers on the Singles board, would it be possible to create a Singles Debate sub-forum?

I think this is a great idea and would welcome a sub forum for debate in the singles area. Then those that want to participate can and it will keep the main singles board available for the more encouraging and uplifting threads.

I'm not clear on what the debates would be about... Singles is designed more for fellowship and encouragement. If you're arguing ABOUT singleness, then maybe Christian Philosophy & Ethics (http://christianforums.com/f459-christian-philosophy-ethics.html) would be a better place. It IS a debate forum. Or if the discussions are about doctrine or theology, they should go to the appropriate Theology (http://christianforums.com/f79-theology.html) (discussion must be framed by Nicene Christianity) or Debate (http://christianforums.com/f9-discussion-debate.html) (no doctrinal restrictions) forum for it.

That's floridanativegrl and dluvs2trvl point: that the general forum has a number of threads which have become debate threads. If we had a subforum there specifically for singles debating general issues, it might ease some of the tension that seems to exist there right now.

The reason the request is being made to create the sub-forum is b/c a number of the singles are voicing the preference to be able to debate topics amongst their peers in the Singles forum - they do not want to go to the other areas of CF that have been designated as debate forums.

It would be nice if there was a sub-forum for those types of threads to keep them off the main singles area. They tend to create a lot of spin-off threads and then the main singles area gets junked up with a lot of nonsense threads.
