I actually thought it was a joke for awhile when I first heard that today. Brad Renfro also just died, he was like 25.

Lately, celebrities seem to be meeting violent deaths more and more. It concerns me - there is such a spirit of violence in the world today. Very sad indeed. Those of us raising young children in this day and age really have our work cut out for us.

I had been hoping this would turn out to be another leaked premature obituary, but that doesn't appear to be the case. :( I loved Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You and The Patriot.

Oh, this is so sad. He was so young. Yep, I loved "A Knights Tale" too!

It is sad. It's horrible when celebrities die after long illnesses, but it's not a shocker. Heath Ledger was a young actor in his prime, still had years left, and then I just go onto CF and there's a thread titled "Heath Ledger is dead". Shocker.
Still, he had a good run. He had a short but very good career.
Lord have mercy. :crosseo:
I read that because of his involvement with "Brokeback Mountain", Westboro Baptist Church is gonna picket his funeral. :(

Those monsters. Ledger had a little daughter who is barely two years old. I hope they find a way to stop this atrocity of a "church" from getting anywhere near that little girl's father's funeral.

Yeah, they were going to picket the funerals of those Amish girls who were murdered but they were given some free air time not to do so. This is how they were dealt with when attempting to picket the funeral of an American soldier.

The thing is, these weirdos don't even know what they're picketing anymore, I'm afraid. Good grief!
I still feel so bad for Heath's little girl. She will grow up, like so many others, without a father. This whole situation is just so sad! All these "stars" who feel like they have nothing to live for, and don't seek help, and the ones who do seek help are "raked over the coals" for it by the press. It's a lose-lose situation for them.

What saddens me the most about this is the fact that here's a family, deep in the throes of grief, and along comes this media circus just because Ledger was a "celebrity". It's sickening, actaully. Somewhere we got the ridiculous notion that just because you're an actor, you and your family lost the right to privacy.
And, in my not-so-humble opinion, those Westboro loonies can all talk a really long walk off of a really short pier.
Ahhh, forgive me. Shutting up now.
