I thought it would be nice to see what the TCL members' churches looked like. Inside or outside! I am interested in beautiful sanctuaries especially. Too bad I can't find any of our church's sanctuary! lol
Here is a picture of the exterior of the church we may join

Here is also an article about the church that shows it almost shut down just 6 years ago, and now is a growing vibrant church.

I don't have a picture at this time, but I thought I'd share this ...
This Sunday I'll be an Assisting Minister (for the 2nd time).
This time I'll be chanting. :liturgy:
I told the Pastor: "But we need to bring people into the church, not drive them away!"
He said: "Eddie, you are chanting".
So, ... :help: :liturgy: :swoon:

For those of you who may not know how to post a photo:
go to your church website, right click a photo you like, select "copy image location"
Then come here. Type , paste the link, then type
it should look like this:
www.xxx.com.jpg
Then hit post reply, and voila

Here is the picture...
Edit: so I tried posting the picture, but it was hideously enormous and wrecked the page, so you will just have to go to the website...
And here is the website: Hope Lutheran Calgary (http://www.hopelutheran.ca)

If you have a picture saved on your computer, you can attach the file to a post and then edit the image back in.
Hmm.
File attachments didn't work for me.
Anyway, here is a picture of the front of my Church at oldest my daughter's first Holy Communion last spring:

I fail at resizing.
Here's one that won't make you scroll sideways...

yes, if the image is on your computer, you just attach it in the go advanced section.
If it's a pic from a website, use the method I outlined above

an outside and some inside shots of my church -- we have a ton of stained glass windows -- along one wall of the sanctuary is OT pictures, other side is life of Jesus -- around the altar is symbolism of the means of grace -- in the choir loft are lutheran/christian symbols

Very nice stained glass, I wish more churches had it. It must be too expensive to have it done now.

we are in the early stages of planning another one! a large circular one above the altar -- it will be a memorial window, so it will have Jesus on it, probably with welcoming arms or something like that

I know this post might be out of place, but I figure I'll finish what I started ... I'm just back from Assisting.
While chanting, I was one octave too low. I started it ... realized it ... too late. :sigh:
I also messed up once on page-turning. Pastor picked up the ball in stride. :)
People were very gracious :crosseo: and told me I was very good.
One altar candle had a problem with the wick and was almost going out. Reggie's eyes (one of the oldtimers who takes care of "everything") were fixed on it probably the whole service.
It did not go out. :)
We had an adult baptism. I think she had tears in her eyes.
When I have a picture I'll post it. But all I have are videos on the Internet.
So, I figured I just describe it.
Thanks, :)

I fugure in 40 years or so you'll look like one of the blue-haired ladies that everyone is afraid of in church. :ebil:

When you turn 80 and your hair turns blue, anything you say will be viewed as an uttering or an oracle even you just say that the pew was hard.
(Re-cushioning the pews will become a number 1 item at the next Councel meeting)
These little fragile blue-haired ladies are feared by the younger crowds ... (actually, when your hair is blue everyone is younger).
At 80 you will have power and dominion and authority ... while you just strut along trying to figure our if your dentures could handle the bagel toasted at 8 instead of the usual 2.
