Nondenominational churches are churches which owe no alligiance to any of the mainline denominations. They often refer to themselves as "independent" as they have no legal or financial ties to any other congregation.

Actually, most do fall under the faith of Christianity.:) But I think I know what you mean.

A non-denominational church is a church who follows what the Bible says and who do not add "beliefs" to the Bible and who do not teach their congregation other than what God's Word says. Their pastor does not set "rules or laws" for the church other than what the Biblw teaches. If I am wrong, please make this right.

thats pretty good except i think the only thing wrong with it is that everyone teaches what the bible says. its just a matter of interpretation. but thats an entirely different discussion haha :D

First...it is a protestant church...not Roman Catholic. And then it is a church that is not a member of one of the many protestant denominations. It is not Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, etc. It may or may not be pentecostal, or charismatic.
I belong to one. We are an independent church. Our church is run by a board of elders who is over the pastor. The pastor is the spiritual leader but he is not the ultimate authority in the church. He can be overruled by the elders. That is just the way our church is organized...not all non-denominational churches are run that way. Many are started by a minister who is the ultimate authority of that church.
We have started two other churches in our area. Neither church is under us...they are each independent and non-denominational.
In our church we have people from many denominations. They are all welcome but not all are church members. Members must agree to a very basic doctrinal statement.
