Hi
I've noiced in a book, a note about Fr. Lavrentie (Lavrentie was in Romanian, I think it might be a russian name -- Cernigov is a place in Russia? -- so could someone tell me if I got his name right?) from Cernigov.
Mainly the note was about the apocalipse and the other author took it as sound, but also mentioned how Fr. Lavrentie's teachings/ writings were not printed in Romania.
Any help would be very apreciated.
Thanks!

I've made a search. St. Lavrentiy of Chernigov (1868 -1950) was canonized in 1993 by Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Chernigov is in Ukraine). He was a hieromonk and choir director in Chernigov Trinity Monastery and a spiritual father for many people. But authenticity of his "end time prophecies" is suspicious. They were published by the same people who fight for canonization of Ivan the Terrible and Rasputin. E.g. there is a prophecy that the antichrist will control all the world except Russia where the Orthodox Tsar will reign. There are also tales about "Jewish plot" etc. Unfortunatly, hysteria around "elders' prophecies" is widespread here and there is much lie about their real teaching.

You've got to be kidding. There are people trying to get those two canonized?
