Sorry but another query...

A dear friend has blessed me with some gifts but I am not sure how to accept them. The system tells me I have to unequip other items first - does that mean I lose the existing items or are they stored?
Can someone please give me a step by step guide to the procedure (basically an idiots guide). I would be very grateful.

once you equip the other item your current itmes are stored if i understood what you ment one moment i'll tell you how

Click on the character icon
click on list of equiped armor items or special items or character items
click on un equip beside the thing you wish to unequip
then click on equip item fomr xxxxxx(xxxx= whatever you wish to change
it will bring up another list click equip item (beside what ever item you wish to equip) then repeat the steps for everything else
