I don't think we have groups of people who canvass neighborhoods to spread the gospel, but we do have teams that go out and visit people who have visited the church--on every one of these visits, the gospel is shared. Also, we have "I have a friend who needs a touch" cards which we can fill out if we know someone who wants to speak to a pastor or just needs people from the church to visit with them and pray with them.

I'm not really sure if our church does anything outside of the church or not. :o I'm sure they do, but I just don't know of it.
I would like to point out however, that during the service our pastor gives new members a chance to let him know that they have accepted Christ during that service so he can pray for them and he lets us know how many people did so.
It's really great though, he has a prayer that he says during every service to help those who are not saved, become so. He has us all bow our heads in prayer and we quietly say out loud, "Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be my Savior, forgive my sins. I believe in you, live in me. In Jesus's name I pray, Amen." After we say this prayer together as one, he says "all heads are bowed, Christians are praying, no one is looking around. If you just prayed that prayer and want to let us know, raise your hand now." This gives those who were just saved a chance to let someone know! Only the pastor knows unless this person wants to publically share. Just last Sunday we had a lady let us all know that she accepted Christ. It's an amazing feeling.
So, I guess I can't say that I know my church goes out and shares the Gospel. I know there must be something they are doing though. But, I suppose I just kind of had to share what we are doing within the church. :D

My church is small group based, it's the small groups that do the ministry of the church. We have some small groups that are very active in the community and others that are more inward focused. It's the goal of the small group leaders pastor (me) to get the small groups to become active outside the walls of the church.

Indeed. The church I am attending in the US wins many souls. If a church isn't winning souls, they need to increase their efforts. Everyone we can get to needs to be saved.

Volunteers from our church go door to door once a month. There is at least one soul saved every Sunday at our church...so I would say Yes we are a soul winning church :)

At the Church that I attend (it's not mine but the Lords church), We have a group of people that go through training using the Four Spiritual Laws. They go out to anyone that #1 has ever been to the church and filled out a visitors card, #2 if a member of the church feels that the person(s) need a visit, or if they just run out of houses on that nights trip out. It is conducted every Thursday Night. They meet for about 20-30 min and then they go Soul winning for the Lord Jesus Christ. Just about every night they win @ lest one or more people for Him and For His Glory.
I am thinking about taking the calsses my self in the next time that they start up.

Our church is a soul winning church.
But this question has me wondering though ... what is the purpose of a church that isn't soul winning?

Our church has Tuesday night visitation where people who have visited the past week are visited. We generally see a soul saved a month with this ministry. It could be more but there are only two men who go week in and week out. That is a sad testimony to our church which has an official membership of right around 200.
I'm disappointed to say that since I got my new job 80+ miles from home I haven't been able to make it out on Tuesdays anymore due to when I get home. :(

I believe its purpose is to have "Ichabod" written across the doors.

Amen, I see no point to churchs that are not soul winning.
I think its the most important part of our ministries as Christians. If you are not trying to lead people to Christ, you got the wrong picture. I think there are some christians that don't truley understand how vital this really is. They might be more intrested in leading people into thier church, rather than to Christ.
That my friend is pride.
I am glad to see that many of you attend soul winning churches. Praise GOD, that HIS WILL may be done!

I think it's kind of like that with our church. If we have visitors, we have people who take them cookies and I think maybe follow up visits. We also have our Easter service at the civic center each year to draw more people from the community who might not set their foot in a church building. I know the gospel is shared but I'm not sure if their's any door to door random witnessing.

Soul-winning should be the main mission of any church. I'd say our church is a soul-winning one though we don't generally knock on doors. Well, sometimes we do.

By soul winning, I mean knocking on doors.
Anyone every knocked? Or street preached?
Its a wonderful experience!

I have done it before. In some areas it is effective, in some it isn't. Street preaching, preaching on busses, in stores, etc can sometimes work better.
