 What do you all think actually happens to us spiritually when we pray in tongues? I've been thinking about that recently...obviously no one really understands the Holy Spirit well enough to answer for sure...really He does whatever He wishes ;)
but what do you think?

I think that praying in tonuges is what Paul describes when he says that "we pray with our Spirit but our mind does not comprehend." that's just a paraphrase btw

but the significance... let's see what others say about this. Very good topic

I guess we can't really know, huh? ;)
the Bible says that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us..maybe this is somehow related to speaking in tongues. I've always found it fascinating that it's essentially another language: well one that we don't know...

Well I've decided today that I believe in speaking in tongues...you see I've been kinda questioning it lately because of what some people said in various forums here. I haven't prayed in tongues in soo long. For some reason I can't, now. But I see it brings many people closer to God, and if it has that effect then I want it too, lol. I want to grow as a Christian and it seems that this sort of thing really helps a lot of people. I'll pray about it and see what God thinks. I'm charismatic in a lot of my theology but I'm still trying to figure it out...and when I worship I'm really charismatic LOL. Well I only want this gift if it's from God and sometimes I think that He's leading me to it or preparing me for it or something.
The only thing that saddens me is that the EO church is against it and I'm EO. I don't want to go against my church. :sigh: ..seriously..but I can't help what I believe to be real..aagh..

Oki noooo I'm going back to "confused Monica" maybe I should go pray again...haha...or sleep! lol!

He will surely answer your prayer Monica. I know this doesn't solve the problem to just say this, but in time you will see the answer as clear as day.
