My dear faithfulchild,

Death is a subject to be approached from many angles.
You question is "what happens to "us" upon death."

There is the physical "us" and the spiritual "us".

We can theorize an analyz but certainly we have some surprises ahead. Not to worry, for some of us FAITH is giving us PEACE in this regard and then another portion of us have come to a point in our life that we are even now looking forward to death with hopeful anticipation.

I just had two deaths close to me recently. My mother died in August and my Big Sis died a few days after Christmas. I have experienced first hand the death of my father and father in law and one of my own sons. And God still wasn't done with me that He allowed me to have a near death experience of my very own for some reason which He did not discuss with me before hand.

I can tell you, that due to my life experience and my spiritual journey and preperation I am one of those who is not afraid and in fact looking forward to the adventure.

I have always been deeply devoted to praying the stations of the cross and I look to Jesus for the perfect example of surrenduring to the Will of the Father.

I know for sure that I will be exiting this body I use for transportation here on this earth. Its not so great at getting me around anymore and it could use an overhaul. I know this, there may be some pain and discomfort but God wont give me more than I can bear.

I know that for sure from what He has already allowed me to experience. I also know that Jesus and The Blessed Mother will be my travel guides. I wont have to do this passing alone.

And last...the more I spend time knowing God, I TRUST HIM. I am simply amazed at how He takes things that seem just awful and turns them into something good and beautiful.

to faithfulchild.

I would say the veil falls from our eyes and we go home to the Lord.
I know a woman who actually died..and well, she came back to testify.. and oh what a beautiful testimony..it surpasses all words. When you have heard her you are no longer afraid of death because you know that the Jesus she has meet.. He is the real Jesus, Pure Love, Mercy to the extent that it even provokes certain individuals.. We humans have an endless ability to complicate things.. but things are not complicated when it comes to the Lord.

And one thing is clear.. Jesus..when He says: "fear not, for your heavenly Father has decided to give you the Kingdom.." He means it. So fear not... it will be peace that passes all understanding.

Halleluja :D

Ive made sure that a few people who were close to dying got to read it, and it helped them tremendously.. ... maybe I'll buy a new copy of the book...

How unfortunate that it is only in one language. It would be awesome to hear her story, even if you can remember some parts. How blessed these people were to have you give them copies of her book...I can't help but think what a difference a book like this would make in many peoples lives.

faithfulchild.. why are you so sad?
and why do you ask these questions? don't you know
that Jesus is good? He is so good and He never turns someone away. I want you to go to this web page and listen to this man named Roy Shoeman:
http://www.salvationisfromthejews.com/audioconverts.html
He too has an awesome testimony about what heaven is like.
My friend told me that Jesus shoved her her whole life.. all the bad stuff and all the good stuff and it was like in shades..so the bad stuff was in darker colours and the darker they were the worse was her selfishness in the things she did.. it became evident to her how much she had done out of selfishness and how much Jesus eg. loves it when we are creative and we do creative things with our life, like paint a picture or write poetry or music and we share this with other people.. anyway.. what most profoundly struck me was the way she just fell down in front of Him totally in humility realising she had no merit of her own but all was His goodness and love and how He had always been with her, even though she had not always believed or behaved well, and she said: now He lifts me up and I see all the darkness dissapear... and Jesus covers it all with His own light..
.. ah.. I cant really describe what she wrote.. I wept so much.. so much.. And every time I picked up the book with years in between I would weep again.. not out of sadness but out of amazement.. out of joy.. thinking: "My Lord.. I am a fool.. I make you into something you are not. You are Love.. you are so beautiful. When oh when will I learn?." A sobbing idiot.. hehe:) Oh praised be Jesus.
I gotta get the book and translate a bit for you from the real thing, dear sister. Please don't be sad.

There will be peace even at the end. So He is good all the way even unto the end.

A very common prayer for catholics is for us to have a holy death.

St. Jospeh, the foster father of Jesus, is known as one of God's people who had maybe the holiest death. He had Jesus and Mary at his bedside.

CF, that's interesting about St. Joseph; I never knew that! :)

SisterKatie, I love your post and it actually made me cry. lol. I can't even imagine how it would be like to meet Jesus, and wow if only I always remembered that, I would trust Him so much more.
