This year (2008) Pesakh comes on Sunday April 20th, thus Erev Pesakh and the first Seder are after havdalah Saturday April 19th

Lets start a resource thread :) never too early to plan ahead!

How does a Saturday night Passover Seder differ from other Passover Seders? (http://judaism.about.com/od/passover/f/pesach_satnite.htm)

When the Passover Seder comes right after Shabbat, the rules are a whole lot different. (http://www.aish.com/passlaw/passlawdefault/When_Passover_Falls_Out_on_Saturday_Night.asp)

A GUIDE TO SHABBOS EREV PESACH (http://www.kashrut.com/Passover/shabbos/)

:) I'll add more as I locate them!

Oh boy... I think I need an English/Hebrew Dictionary! ;)
So many words and customs one who is completely new to this to understand! It's a very good thing that you've put these links up now! Thank you. :)

I guess you saw my answer in the when is passover this year thread? ;)

Yes, it will be interesting. But then again , I did a five course meal on Shabbat Sukkot with 9 guests so shouldn't be a problem. :)

Thank you for these links. My husband and I were just discussing this the other night.

This will be our 4th Passover, and as all the Appointed times come and go, I learn so much each time
with each Festival.

This year will be even better, more learning, more enjoyment and certainly fulfilling.

Shalom

I will probably be lazy and not use any leavened bread! I eat very little bread, so I will just use Matzah or make my own unleavened rye cakes. I am not what one would call a foodie. My diet is mostly raw whole fruit and raw vegetables.

I am happy that Passover is far away from Easter. I can just vanish on Easter like I did for Christmas. It has been--lets see, 15 years since I boiled an Easter egg or put up an Easter looking thing in my house. I am trying to wean my husband and son off Christmas.

My family is slow on the uptake when it comes to proper holidays. Please pray with me on this. It was easy to get them to give up Halloween. Easter and Christmas has been a lot tougher. Getting them to understand Passover and Hanukkah has been a bit of a challenge.

I know what you mean -- we tend to "disappear" as well ... sometimes it is just so much easier on the other folk, 'tis a mitzvah ;)

I know, I kind of look forward to vanishing too. I have no idea how successful we will or won't be since customs here are completely different and the Easter Season is peppered with loads of celebrating and fasting.... people have already started to get stuff in for Carnival/Fat Tuesday (and no I am not joking... it's depressing)

LOL... I definitely will. :) I have some stuff to catch up on here and then "I'll be back!"... LOL I think the first step will be to learn as much as I can about the basic Sabbath observance and THEN delve into the "exceptions" like this year for Passover. ;)

They do that in Germany too? Is the debauchery and revelry the same? or close?
