Apparently the reconcilition team was going to come up with a brand spanking new way of members being able to have some recourse against what they perceive as unfair action

http://christianforums.com/t6397510-appeals-forum-closing-this-week.html

Call me anal however I dont really see 2 months as a short period of time

So, what gives?

A heads up would be good

As I understand it, appeals no longer exsits... the thin ya gotta do now is go to the lil complaint/suggestion box where everthin is kept hush hush, cept for the thread starter an a few select staff members. Zero accountiblity, no offical way to clear ones name er git sumthin fixed. I haven't used the thin so donno what the setup of it is like, only.. I know if your a lowly user of this board an not a 'high enough' staff member you'd never know what's happened, er how badly someones gotten raked over the coals.

I think after 2 months at least a progress report is in order. Has anyone notified the RT about this thread?

Appeals take place in the Suggestion/Complaint box, and that is the new/current system. You can begin an appeal by either just starting a thread in the S/C box or using the Feedback button will also still start the appeal.

The linked announcement stated that was an interim measure

Why was this never announced as being as the formal solution?

And what does one have to do to get staff attention on heavey handed harassing mod actions? They get started, mods provide links to reports and then nothing more gets done. And harassing mod is free to carry on their merry little way

It probably wasn't announced because someone just forgot.

Appeals do take time. The RT has gone through several staffing changes which has slowed things for a few weeks. This week we have 19 formal appeals, 19 informal appeals, and it looks like about 36 other complaints, problems, etc. I've been working in there pretty much all evening and some others have worked all evening during the week. This isn't a sob story. We just literally can only do so much at once, so yes, things are going to take some time.

The thing is Meh

There needs to be a formal site wide announcement that if a member feels if they have been judged wroingly in a staff action this is the choice of action they have

I didnt even know that there were two types of appeals, the linked announcement stated that if a person had a complaint re staff to start a thread in the complaints ideas box, it did not state that a person could still file an appeal via the old system

The Reconciliation Team is working on a new system for complaints or issues regarding staff actions or behavior. Until these plans are finalized, please use the Suggestion/Complaint forum to start a thread regarding any such issues. You are also always welcome to PM complaints to a member of the Reconciliation Team.

So, how about a formal sitewide announcement about this please.

So, are you saying that the interim appeals process is now the permanent appeals process? Is that what you're saying?

No, I think what she is saying is that the current place to formalize appeals would be through the comments/suggestions forum.

If a member needs to appeal something and has questions on how to do so, they can contact any member of staff.

I know if your a lowly user of this board an not a 'high enough' staff member you'd never know what's happened, er how badly someones gotten raked over the coals.I have started 2 threads in the Suggestion/Complaint box. The setup is simply that it is a thread with limited access. I think only administrators and higher have unlimited access. The ordinary member thread starter looses access when the thread is archived. In the two threads I was told that staff did nothing wrong and that I am not entitled to any information. Embarrassing questions were left unanswered, but the response was nonetheless higher than in the open forums.

And what does one have to do to get staff attention on heavey handed harassing mod actions? They get started, mods provide links to reports and then nothing more gets done. And harassing mod is free to carry on their merry little wayI think a purpose of the reforms is to provide better working conditions for staff. Not being accountable to the members and being able to operate in secret gives them more freedom.

It probably wasn't announced because someone just forgot.Failure to inform the members seems to be the rule rather than the exception. I think it is you (meh) who forgot you are not supposed to respond to our concerns.

Matters seem only to have gotten worse. The RT team seems to be understaffed. It contains 8 members now, but I think it was even less a few days ago.

So, how about a formal sitewide announcement about this please.Perhaps next year.

If a member needs to appeal something and has questions on how to do so, they can contact any member of staff.Staff members are complaining they have too much work. Why give them extra work ?

Off topic : Does anyone have contact information of Br. Max ?
