I've always wondered why the "raising of the dead", and their walking of the streets, was never recorded in any other histoircal account? For sure that is a much greater sign than an earthquake. Why is the NT the only place which records this astounding miracle?

I have heard that Moses leaving Egypt with a great mass was not recorded by outside sources either.

Point in fact, it is recorded in serveral places, but that is different from a miraculous wonder. Mass raising of bodies from the grave to wonder the streets is a considerable miracle.

Gee, Simchat-Torah almost sounds like they are trying to cast doubt on the NT manuscript***... maybe it's just me. Maybe a possible review for a mod?
***Matthew 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

I saw a video of a man that was raised from the dead in Africa. I also have an African friend who claimed his wife was raised from the dead. I've know the guy for a couple of years now and he seems to be an honest God fearing person. His son also had a deformity of his skull that Hashem cured.

I wonder how many places the temple curtain which was reported to be as thick as a mans hand is wide, was torn from top to bottom and if anyone has figured how much strength would have had to be exerted to do such a thing?

But who would record it? The romans would not for they must have known that a power greater than that of Rome existed and bested them that day. Not the Sanhedrin for they would have to admit their folly in sacrificing one man for the nation and not believing who he was. So who was left? Jerusalem only barely had room at that time for the Jewish pilgrims come to celebrate the Passover, there wouldn't have been room for any visitors or travelers at that time.

I normally like my red herring blackened or with a little bit of spice, at least. 'Tis too bland to enjoy otherwise.

Did you not start this thread?Nope. Its fine that the mods seperated my post out of Visionary's thread, but I was given no notice nor was I asked that a new thread be started. Generally, the rule of thumb is that someone asks "May I start a seperate thread from your post?"

Here's the deal. Doubt of this NT event was cast in OP because no one else discusses such a spectacular event. I was bringing up an OT event that is not apprarently discussed either by outside sources.

That is a courtesy...but is not required. That's good to know, so I guess we can all have to wonder if our words will be taken out of context, moved somewhere else and made to look like we did something we didn't. I guess l'shon hara rules don't apply here. :(

Take it up with the mods of the forum. I think that you'll generally find that they are pretty fair folks. Don't expect, however, CF to be ruled by a bunch of specific prohibitions from the Talmud.

Maybe not all CF but I recently was chewed out for not being familiar with talmudic interpretation on a certain mitzvot, perhaps all mods should be informed of this?
