Hi Everyone,

I want to introduce myself. My name is Sarah. My home forum is the Seventh-day Adventist forum, but i've been considering lately branching out a bit. :)

I've been a Christian since I was about 16, but still have so much to learn and grow. I'm still going through the Bible for the first time and thusly am very open to the idea that I can't have strong viewpoints on many subjects yet - Untill I have fully studied them.

My background before Adventistism is spirituality and wicca, but I won't go too far into it. It does help me to have an open mind in regards to certain subjects, though, as I better understand that point of view.

Okay, so that doesn't make me sound very Conservative does it? :sorry: Truth is, though, the more I read my Bible the more I find myself fitting into the Conservative Christian role..even if I have a very different background and lifestyle at the moment (living with a very spiritual/new age/Christian mom).

I'm still really shopping around for another forum to participate in my limited time I have here between modding and such..but right now here is a very high probability.

So, I wanted to take this chance to post and say hi to you all. :) If I have any questions about your beliefs is it okay to ask here while I get the feel?

Blessings and Love,
Sarah

Welcome:wave:

I'm edie - one of the CC mods. We're glad to have you here.

http://christianforums.com/t6377207-cc-statement-of-faith-and-guidelines.html

As an fyi - I'm directing you to our Statement of Faith and our forum specific guidelines.

We don't have a "membership" as far as a list goes - we mod in accordance with the referenced SoF & FSG's.

One of my favorite things about CC is the fact that we cross a multiple of denomination/tradition lines. We have EO, RCC, Baptist, Lutheran - and many others here. Makes for some interesting discussion - plus goes to show that there's much more to Christianity than the name over the door - that we have a lot of "common ground."

Anyhow - welcome again - checkout some of the threads, start a thread or two of your own. In other words, enjoy.

edie

Hi Sarah (good name, by the way!)
Welcome to CC - feel free to ask anything you want to know... can't promise to know any answers, but we'll do our best.
Look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks guys! ^_^

I've looked over the statement of faith and such. So, basically..as long as I don't post against those teachings then it's fine in here, right?

Yup, that's about it.
There is a debate subforum if you want to debate any of them, but not in the main forum.

Great! I don't think there's really any problem with the teachings that I'd be contraditcing anymore, but I'll check out the debate section just the same. :)

We have a similar set up in SDA, although I think your idea to have a rules subforum is great! We shoulda done that. Mighta actually got more input and less confusion.
