I just wasted 350 blessings on trying to change my avatar, and it didn't work. I don't know how to fix it, and I'll have no blessings left trying to fix it. anybody know what I can do? :(

Thanks to the kind soul who gave me blessings. Could someone who knows a lot about the avatar issue help me out? The picture comes up on another board and is fine in my personal photo album. Is there some reason it isn't coming up here? Don't you all just see a square with a red "x" in it?

You could post in the 'bugs" forum or the computer forum for some geeks to help you......Bless ya..Kim

I just had this problem myself.

First, go to http://www1.christianforums.com/ and log in again. Then make sure your avatar picture is 120 x 120 pixels or less, and 30 KB or less. Then it should upload. They are still working with this issue.

It's not a bug it's a feature! I believe that TPTB are working the issue. We can recover your blessings as well.

Go to the announcement forum..there is announcement about the problem with avatars, sigs and profile pics. On the first post of that announcement they give links that are "work arounds" to get your avatar in place ..they links WORK

Thanks so much, everyone. I think all of my avatars I was trying to post were over 120...I'm sure of it, actually. I will test something else that's smaller....gotta do some searching. LOL

Ok, I tried one that was 120 x 120, then another that was 96 x 96. Neither showed!

Eh...the modcp was totally hosed. It wouldn't let me upload a picture or include a link for your profile. Couldn't do it on mine either.

I tested it too and ModCP did the same to me.

I tried to put my own avatar in as I have it as an url not just uploaded from my computer. It still didn't work

Dorothea, I suggest for a bit you pick one of the regular avatars. Then see if you can put your pic you want into your signature temporarily.

BTW, It works better to upload the pic to photobucket.com (or another place) then it is to use an url directly from the website you find the image at.

But then, I download my avatar pics to my computer and upload them here and they usually work just fine.

I changed my name, avatar and signature all at once a bit ago, probably a few weeks? And it's been wacky since then, even before. I think it's one of the kinks Lee needs to work out with all of these changes going on. Should be fixed in no time though.
