Well, in that case, we are the closest your gonna get to them around here.
Never heard of them before. Can you tell us more about them?

I'm not too familiar with it, that's why I was searching here. I have been watching The Shepherds Chapel on tv...it's branched off from the Worldwide Church of God from what I understand. They meet on Saturdays, and observe all the Old Testament laws from what I understand. I have googled it, and seen much. It's all very confusing.

Beware of "Shephards Chapel" it is the source of outright lies and false teachings! He uses the very last possible word in the English language to define "begiled me"!
You've been warned, you can't come before God and say that the serpent had sex with you!
BTW WWG has been corrupted from the original which was Believers in the one God and kept all his commandments and now are trinitarians and keep the day of the sun god.
My Grandmother listened to Herbert W. Armstrong when I was just a child. 71 now.

I attend Church of God Seventh Day. It was not a big stretch for them to add the Moedim [appointed Feasts].

I doubt you will find many here who adhere to teachings of the WWCOG... they tend to be rather.. different to say the least... and have morphed into a kind of cult..

Interesting morphology there H.S.
People who isolate themselves too much I think get blown by every tangent of the imagination... JMO
Looks like they separated out from COG seventh Day a while back. I really hate all the division and isolationism. It is hard having so many different belief systems in our extended family but it also brings rich discussion when we love and respect on another.
Have to agree, we are not likely to see WWCOG represented here... sounds like they might be kind of Torah observant though.

The split came when some of the leaders decided that keeping Shabbat and the Appointed times no longer mattered.
Since then many splinter groups have formed and things have gotten very sad.

Yeh Pi.,
That was seems pretty bizzarre to me too. Which splinter was that? Wait... maybe we really don't want to know.
COG is trinitarian... that I attend. Still me and one elder are pre nicene theology... and we all get along just fine.

He preaches replacement theology and teaches that Jews come from Satan among other things. :sigh::doh:

I think that is the church that my neighbors meet with.
They go to church on Sat. and they do the Biblical feasts and not Christmas and Easter.
They have big conferences at least once a year where they get together in several parts of the country for a week or so.

I'm not too familiar with the doctrine of this show, I'm rather new to learning this stuff. However, I have been listening for a while, and everything looks Biblically sound to me. I have never ever heard him talk badly of Jews. I find that highly unbelievable and would like to see proof of this....please. I have read all the hate sites on the net.... but until I see Biblical proof I won't buy it. Sorry. I have been attending a Baptist church...I'm not endorsing this church, I just enjoy the show and have learned alot. It does not seem twisted to me when it's read straight from the Bible.

Shephard's Chapel, when you read his literature and don't know what to believe, you might be suckered into his Cult. But You've been warned.
Luvav has the gist of his doctrine.
If all he said was false he wouldn't be as big as he is.
But speak almost the truth and prove your words and then you can catch a few happy chickens.

Stay here and visit with us... .I believe you will find us a rather friendly bunch... It is not the first time that we have those who observe the feasts, Love the Lord, and keep shabbat but go under a different organizational name. You will have to watch the icons closely when you read their comments to understand that we all are not Mj who post here. Once you get to know the regular posters you will see that for the most part we get along even inspite of our differences.

I don't know what you would consider 'proof' I have heard him, Arnold Murray with my own ears spout this filth about Jews. Even on his own website he has a page for his answers to critics and he speaks in defense of his Kenite and Serpent seed theory but not in detail , you have to buy his tapes to hear it all.
This is what Christian Apologetics and research Ministry has to say:
The Shepherd's Chapel is a church out of Gravette, Arkansas, run by a man named Arnold Murray. Mr. Murray has a television and radio outreach where he spreads his particular doctrines. Many of these doctrines of his are definitely not biblical.
Excerpt:
Two additional distinguishing and erroneous doctrines of the Shepherd's Chapel are known as the Serpent Seed doctrine and the Kenite doctrine. These are intimately related. The Serpent Seed doctrine is the teaching that in the Garden of Eden, the serpent (the devil) had sexual relations with Eve.
The Kenites, according to Mr. Murray, must be exposed. "We must continue to teach who the Kenites are," says Mr. Murray (Newsletter #190, August 1994). He states that the Kenites survived the flood (he denies the global flood) and are found in the lineage of Israel, not Judah (Newsletter #179, Sept. 1993). Eventually, the Kenites permeated the nation of Israel and are the ones who shouted "Crucify Him," in reference to Jesus (Newsletter #179, Sept. 1993).
Of course, if you study with him you are not being deceived, but if you are studying elsewhere, you're studying with a Kenite or siding with the enemy. Such are the machinations of this leader who teaches false doctrines.
Please be very wary of the Shepherd's Chapel. (http://www.carm.org/chapel/serpent_seed.htm)

Apparently, I have lost you somewhere.I *think* he was saying that Mr Armstrong uses a rather distant and perverted definition of the word "beguile" in paraphrasing the event of the Fall ... thus "have sex with you" (as possibly being the explanation he presents for "beguile"

Probably the same sexual devient serpent who beguiled Mr Armstrong.

I meant here on the forum.... you can still keep the physical place of worship which is in your comfort zone until the Lord leads you to other areas for your spiritual awakening and growth.
