It's official. Gamers have no life.

I'm playing this little browser-based village building game. It's in real-time and I get more resources by the minute, so I figure I'll leave it alone around the holidays, go back after New Year's, and I'm golden to do all the upgrades I want.

Well, I log in today to congratulate myself on my genius...and I find that I don't have nearly enough resources that I would expect to have. Well, lo and behold, I check my log...and I've been SACKED.

On Christmas Day. I left it alone around the 20th, and had no other sack but on Christmas Day and today.

I didn't even have a rallying point! (which means I wasn't even eligible to have a military yet). That costs alot, and I wanted to hold off.

Some 14-year-old punk with no life stole literally at least a thousand in every resource category.

I'm usually better prepared for this...I just assumed that in celebration of the birth of God with feasts and such the nerds would finally have a reason to turn off their comps. Guess. not.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas regardless. I know I did. :)

And I know I'm gettin' this punk back :P

LOL Sounds like an interesting game, Mary. :) I'm sure you'll get the kid back in the New Year. :P

honestly, I spent more time on the internet over the Christmas holiday (post-holiday) doing stuff because, well, though I was hanging out with family etc, I stay up later than the others and didn't have much on the docket. During the regular work week, you know, I'm pretty busy. I stay up later than everybody else, so, why not get some time in looking at the internet or playing games? That could be what's up. Don't get me wrong, I did other edifying stuff as well (reread Brothers Karamazov, made significant progress in my attempt to get through the entire Bible, attended quite a few church services, etc). But there are a lot of hours in the day when you're not working.

hmmmm... I could use some distraction ... is this an on-line game? PM me with details - perhaps an alliance might be in order?

Work hasn't been nearly as busy lately with the holidays and yesterday I had quite a bit of time to spend screwing around on the computer. Mostly owing to the fact the women folk kicked me out of the kitchen while they were making dinner. That's literally too, bending over to look at the turkey in the oven and my wife kicked me in the butt and threw me out.

Why were you investigating the turkey? Don't you trust her cooking?? :D

(From a single guy who had to go OUT for dinner on Christmas!! )

Nahh, I've just always wanted to see the little thing pop up when the turkey's done.
