Thank you Monica for bringing up questions about how we pray in another thread. I think praying and laying on of hands is a discussion that should go on...I believe it is good to encourage others to learn more about prayer and listen to the call of the Holy Spirit to interceed for others.
Being an Intercessor is for everyone.
Intercession is praying with the real hope and real intent, that God will step in and act for the positive advancement of some specific other person. It is the act of trusting God to act, even if it's not in the manner or timing we seek. God wants us to ask though even when it is urgent. It is casting our weakness before God's strength, and (at its best) having a bit of God's passion burn in us.
This is how I pray when I intercede.
As we take our concerns to God, the key motivation should be compassion, loving the people with a profession of faith, with a love like God's love, and letting it burn so fully, as to going before God on their behalf. All that is required is the faith that God listens.
Praying for souls is by no means ignoring their wrongdoings, but saving at least some of the people and bringing them back to where they belong.
By this heartfelt action of the Intercessor, prayer becomes an act of love and surrender with the intention of bringing forth reconciliation between God and the souls who need His reconciliation and Mercy.
I encourage everyone to enter into intercessory prayer.
Have a blessed day and pray for others.

Holy Spirit how wonderful you are.
Lord Jesus I pray in behalf of all those who post here in this lovely forum you have provided. We seek your face today. We want to know your will today. We ask for you to lay out your plans for us, reveal your will for us today. If only the next step. Give us the grace to know your steps for us and to take them.
Lead us in our personal lives for our daily bread today Lord. Guide us in our spending Jesus. Help us to be good stewards of all that you have given us. Open up the treasury of heaven, but only give us what is of your good pleasure.
Whether we are in lack or gain, build our faith to know you are in control of both. Both are the same to you. Each with their own lessons and learning opportunities.
Open our eyes to make decisions with your perspective. Help us to see that with each stage in life you are drawing us closer to you, working to make us more like you.
Jesus I thank you that you have given us all that we need for the journey. Jesus, I thank you for all the spiritual and temporal gifts, even pleasures of this life.

Prayer Today
High, glorious God,
enlighten the darkness of my heart,
and give me right faith,
certain hope,
and perfect charity,
wisdom and understanding,
Lord, that I may carry out
your holy and true command.
Amen.
- St. Francis of Assisi
Father God, today I pray ... may angels watch over us and assist the miracles God sends our way.
obes.
I ask you to remember our loved ones.
Dear heavenly Father I lift them up to you.
Lord I ask that you pour out your love and care on them.
Hold each one who is hurting or has not accepted your salvation in your loving arms Lord and give them peace.
And especially shower your mercy on our loved ones who have passed on to eternal rest that they find their comfort with you. Lord I pray that their families and friends will also be comforted. Lord may your mercy and grace hold them all close to you.
Your will be done Lord ... In Jesus name ... Amen
I am praying also for our CF family members to be filled with YOUR Spirit to minister to others.
Father God Our Provider, remember with your grace, our friends who need miracles for their daily bread,...not only in spiritual but also in temporal necessities, I approach thee with submissive and humble hearts, child-like affectionate and trust in YOUR power and goodness. I ask for assistance in these present financial needs due to the everyday circumstances which arisen in their lives, some of them are in dire need and anxious, being unable to meet their honest debts. We implore your magnificent attention to these urgent needs. I do not mention the names of these persons here, as I pray now, you see into my heart and I whisper their names to you. If they know me, then they are included even if they have not requested this prayer...if they read this then let them also claim it for their own.
Praying for CF members who minister the Word Of God, to save souls and be protected and filled according to their ministries.
Dear Holy Spirit, come and fill these hearts with undying love for bringing love to their brothers and sister and also a strong armor to protect them in their own personl lives where they may be vulnerable to attack. Power up your gifts for their ministries with YOUR mighty strength.
Praying for CF members who need a healing touch.
Father God, who put the rainbow in the sky and set the sun above us with its magnificant force to nourish us...bring HOPE to those who are sad and depressed. Bring them into fellowship with a brother or sister who can pray for them and be a good example for them to lean on as they grow in strength to stand with confidence in YOUR LOVE.
I give you Thanks and Praise for all the ways YOU touch us and we are unaware, Dear Father God. You are worthy of so much more Praise and Thanksgving than you receive. I wish to offer my own prayers at this moment with all the life in me to tell you and show you how much I LOVE YOU. Above all that life in this world offers...YOU are the life and breath of me. Thank You for all the ways that I never knew that you were helping me, holding me, guiding me and LOVING me, especially when I wondered away and behaved like a spoiled brat wanting my own will. They will be done and I give you my will for the good of YOUR Kingdome.

One of the keys to answered prayer is persistence -- which means "to hold fast to," or hold onto tightly.
God wants us to hold on tightly to His promises in prayer.
Don't let disappointment cause you to let go of your faith.
If we call on God, He promises to answer!
But we must wait on the Lord and let Him answer our prayers in His perfect timing.
Many times the greatest trial comes just before the answer arrives; it often seems darkest just before dawn.

Todays Prayer
Christ Jesus you are the Son of God sent to bring Glory to His name and salvation to men. Praise be to you our Holy, Holy Lord. I pray with Faith that you hear my plea as I offer up to You, the members of this forum and participants who come her to seek, to learn and to find refuge and renewal in Your Holy Spirit.
Guide us, your intercessors to imitate your humility and surrender our wills to the Highest Good of the Will of Our Father. Send us the grace of love to fill our hearts that we may be ever giving and gracious, understanding patient and compassionate. Give each of us the ability to surrender ourselves to be the least of all persons, offering ourselves as bearers of salt and light to the world, not seeking to be admired or placed upon high places of honor or admiration.
We offer to you, our own pain and sufferings completely, lifting them up to God with out clinging to the needs of our own hearts. Give us strength to say “Jesus, I trust in You!” as a routine part of our prayers and place our own difficulties, trials and afflictions safely in your hands. Send aid for our efforts to grow in this kind of FAITH so we may live triumphantly taking up the cross and the imitation of Christ your Son.
Pour out Your Blessings in the name of Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, abundantly upon the people we have ministered to today and send angels to aid them in recognizing your graces to accept them, so they will not be rejected.
AMEN

Prayer changes things.
Until your trust in God becomes stronger keep praying.
It is a habit that needs to be developed and encouraged. Keep praying until your prayer becomes a communion with God.
One day you will see how unexpectedly your prayers have been answered, and perhaps deeply regret that you spent so little time praying.

All are welcome to pray here...
Prayer Today
Our Father in Heaven in the name of Our Sweet Jesus, King of Mercy , I can only try to imagine Your compassionate heart. I am sure tht it is far greater than my human capabilities are able to understand.
Our struggles beat so loudly that we want to cry out for help for ourselves and each other but quietly I reach into my store of faith and peace comes. You are reminding me that everywhere all around me there is evidence of Your Presence -- and in that I can take hope. For once my prayer goes out to You I have asurance that it is heard and You are in control. To be aware of Your presence at this moment is so comforting. To know that in all things, I can turn to You, and trust You for whatever the circumstances face me.
It is because of this, I step out to pray for others, including the persons being lifted upl in prayer today in our hearts. You are faithful, gentle and compassionate. Your Word is filled to the brim with hope, and Your great Kingdom that is to come, a shining light on the horizon, that helps me focus on You and Your needs and the need of others -- instead of my own.
My prayer is for anyone connected to this forum who is at this very moment struggling with things beyond their own control. My prayer is a cry to my King asking for His arms of protection to fall on each one of them. Whatever their struggle this day, Lord, I pray You will reveal Your purposes in that struggle, and I ask You to comfort and sustain the weak ones who are the most susceptible to the snares of Satan -- especially during hard times.

Prayer Today
Father God, I freely choose to love You. I reject any action on my part that may cause me to sin against You my God or my neighbor or against my own self.
Speak to my conscious mind and bring to my memory any action I took during my life that offended you, or hurt some other person or disgraced myself. Shine your light into my heart and allow me to see those moments and actions with spiritual eyes and flood me with a contrite heart and perfect intention to reconcile myself with you.
Sweet Jesus my brother, my lover, my friend and saving grace, allow me to kneel before you and plead for forgiveness for the sins I have caused that brought you pain. Allow me to bring water, oils, perfumes and ointments to apply comfort to your wounds. My heart breaks that I have ever caused a moment when I was separated from You.
Bring into my life Your divine light of empowering grace, that I may not fail to meet the serious needs of the poor and the little ones who are my brothers and sisters. My desire is to Love You and never be separated from you, yet to be bound to you by choice for all eternity.
Through this prayer Father, may you also empower my prayers as an Intercessor. Hear my plea and bring your Mercy and Divine Will to the requests I lift up to you throughout the day.
Today, I ask for my brothers and sister that you forgive their sins and bring them to everlasting life, living the Spirit Filled Life. Amen

Prayer Today
O Lord, our God.
We place our trust in You,
Because you are mercy itself.
We repent of our sins and turn to You for mercy.
We trust You to provide for our every need, according to Your will.
Help us to forgive others as You forgive us.
We promise to be merciful by our deeds, words and prayers.
Though we have fears because of human weakness, we rely on Your infinite goodness and mercy.
We entrust to You the future of our planet, our Church, our nations, our families and all our needs.
With loud cries we implore your mercy on us and on the whole world.
Look upon us, created in your image and likeness.
Form us in the Heart of Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit into the living images of mercy.
May all come to know the depth of Your mercy and sing the praises of Your mercy forever.
I ask you to look with Mercy upon all those who cross my path today and to the people I call family and friends for their needs to be filled abundantley.
Father, shower your blessing on this forum that we who participate her bring Glory and Honor to YOU.

Intercessors, keep going because you are one of the keys to bringing forth the will of God! You are the one God has called and placed an anointing to bridge gaps that the other anointings can't bridge. He wants you to release the ability of the Holy Spirit through your person. The part the Holy Spirit has you play is vital in helping win lost souls and being engaged in discipleship, and we can never thank you enough for the labor of love and support you provide on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The three with Him went to sleep more than once during this whole ordeal, even though the Lord agonized (travailed) in prayer so much ..."His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." (Luke 22:44) The Lord wanted the disciples to watch and pray with Him.
The life of an intercessor is a call to power, not perplexity; to faith, not fear. It’s not for you, It's for the Lord. You will need to be able to stay alert through storms and sleep while the Wind Blows and even more important you will need persistence.
So. you intercessors. stay prayed up, placing intercession high on the list of importance in your life. Then when the storm comes and the wind blows you will be able to ride it out for the Glory of God.
No matter who you are in the body of Christ, you need the function of an intercessor. You need someone anointed to bridge the gap for you and the body of Christ. Few are willing to pay the price and spend the time, as depicted when Jesus asked the disciples to watch and pray with Him just before His crucifixion. Jesus is the great intercessor and our example. After He asked the three with Him to watch, He went forward and fell on the ground and prayed. (Mark 14:32-35) so they wouldn't fall into temptation. Jesus was vexed in His soul. He said, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful unto death:...." He returned to them three times before He finally said, "It is enough." (Mark 14: 34-41 ) Something needed to be prayed through or He wouldn't have said, "It is enough." Everything had already been ordained by God that was to happen to Jesus on the cross, down to the littlest detail, and yet something had to be travailed about to bring it forth. Jesus' flesh and soul was pulling away from God's purpose. "...Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt." (Mark 14:36) Intersession had to take place before the biggest event in the history of mankind, in order for it to come to pass, even though it had been ordained by God.

Dearest Lord Our God, You alone are Our Father who saves. I ask you to look down upon the many souls here lying in great weakness of body, some of them confined to a bed, in hospitals and hospices, some with medical assistance but no cure, others with no medical assistance. There are many we know of by prayer requests while the lonely and forgotten receive no help, and no pray at all. Some of these are our own families and friends. I also include here Father all your children for whom no one cares. For all of these I pray.
Eternal Father , cover them all under Your Merciful Healing Hand. The issues of life and death hold nothing impossible for You. I ask you to look upon the sick and dying and heal all their infirmities, affliction and disease of every sort, restoring them to health. In submission to Your will, I ask Your Merciful hands to spare them with Your tender touch. Grant them a longer life among us. If You should be pleased to raise them from their bed of languishing, grant that they may live the remainder of their life in Your glory.
But whatever Your Will determines, for life or death, let these souls, precious in Your sight be given true repentance for all their sins, ignorance, and the negligence of their past life. Prepare them for the hour of departure and in so doing defend them from spiritual enemies. Finish all that is needed in the work of their salvation. Support and comfort them in their last agonies. Make their end easy and peaceful. Wash these souls with the precious blood of Your dear Son. Sanctify them with the graces of Your Holy Spirit. Cleans them from all defilements, so they can be presented pure and blameless, without spot before You.
Finally Lord, receive them into the arms of Your Divine Mercy; breath into them a lively faith in Jesus Christ and give them a resurrection into the eternal life of Your Kingdom.
All of this I ask, in the name, and through the merits of our Advocate and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen
