View Full Version : Can I share this here ?

Can I share this here without being attacked or ridiculed or looked at as some kind of nut ? I hope so, since people who are involved in the Charismatic renewal are usually more "open minded" than traditional Catholics and are aware that God is not limited as to what He can do and to what kind of gifts He may bestow upon us. Well, here it is: When I was first "born again", (about 25 years ago), I began attending daily Mass, going to frequent sacramental confession, going to weekly Charismatic prayer groups, and also spending at least an hour a week in adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, (of which practice, I continue today). Anyway, as I began to grasp an understanding of God's spiritual gifts, I had a strong desire to be able to hear God's voice in the many ways that he speaks to us. At that time, I had trouble discerning what was God's voice, so I prayed especially hard to be able to recognize the Lord's voice. During one visit to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, I saw the Lord's face, (in the Communion Host), and couldn't believe my eyes as to what I was seeing. At that time I also received some words (which were prophetic in nature), which I am not going to go into at this time. Anyway, these visions began to occur quite frequently, in particular when I was in adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, and these "visions" continue to this day. You may ask, why am I sharing such a personal part of my life on this forum ? First of all, I can do it here and still remain anonymous, since this is a personal part of my spiritual life, and I don't want any attention drawn to myself. Second of all, the Lord has given me some important messages over the years, and I would like to share them without fear of recourse.
Here is one of my most recent visions that I received: Two days ago, when I was at daily mass, when I went up to receive our Lord in Communion, I saw this vision in the Communion Host. I saw what appeared to be the cover of a book with a cross on it. At first, I did not recognize it as being a cover of a book, so I asked the Lord what it was that I was seeing. Immediately I received these words, "The Word", and then understood it to mean the Word of God which is in the Bible. A few seconds later, I received these additional words to further explain this vision; "The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us". I was really blessed by these words, since especially up until I received these words, I was not really in the Christmas spirit. I was too focused on worldly things, and not the true meaning of Christmas. I believe that the Lord gave me this vision with these words to get me on the right track in preparation for Christmas. Praise the Lord ! Thank you Jesus !

That is some pretty cool stuff you are experiencing.

The part of seeing Jesus face on the Eucharist reminds me of one of the Eucharistic miracles where everyone can see the face.

Indeed, it is a miracle and I thank the Lord all the time for this blessing. I certainly don't deserve these blessings, it is just the Lord pouring out His infinite Love to me in a very special, personal way. Thank You Jesus !

Hawko,
I know exactly what is happening with you.
Very same experiences started happening with me back in 1982.
I would like to be in touch with you in PM's. I will share some of my "experiences".
Have you shared this with your Pastor? Sometimes it is hard, because not every Priest is up on Contemplative Prayer. It is very important for you to find a Spiritual Director if you don't have one. I also recommend you start journalizing these experiences in as much detail as you can.
I can tell you this, one of my first experiences was so profound that my Pastor had me write it out completely and it went under scrutiny. My Pastor gave it to the Bishop and I don't know what happened from there. I found out 10 years later that "my experience neither contradicted scripture or tradition", that is all I was told.

I believe that most folks who spend time in Adoration is usually in the beginning of Contemplative Prayer. This is such a time of Spiritual Growth that you actually start seeing things with your Spiritual eyes.

So, if you do nothing else, write down everything you experience. Don't tell me how hard it is to put in words, that is a given. There are no words for some of it. Do your best and don't worry how it sounds.

Blessings.

Thank You Peaceful dove, for your suggestions as to share this with a priest who could be a spiritual director. I have thought about doing just that over the years, but I have never felt that it was necessary for either discernment or to help with my spiritual growth. The reason for my decision not to share it was because if it were meant to be shared with a priest, the Lord would have led me to one by now (after 25 years), and as far as discernment is concerned, the way that I receive these visions (in the Communion Host), is a form of "built in discernment". What I mean by this, is that any vision coming from a Communion Host is definitely from the Lord, since Holy Communion is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Perhaps it is a good idea to write these spiritual experiences down. Actually, about a year and a half ago, the Lord did lay it on my heart to write down a series of visions which were prophetic in nature, which concerned world events. I did write these down, and I shared them with my close friends and family members only. Perhaps at a later date, I will share these with others, as the Lord leads me to do so. Once again, thank you for your suggestions and it is good to hear that I am not the only one whom the Lord is speaking to in this manner.

Oh how wonderful Hawko. That is truly a gift from God. I think that when you strat to receive blessings from Him, they are meant to be shared. Otherwise it is like you are hiding your light under a bushel basket.

I have visions alot but some are stronger than others. In the beginning I used to receive many messages through dreams. But nowadays I don't much.

But anyways, back to the face of Jesus. Yes I saw His face a couple of times, once when I was at a class at church, there was this picture of our Lady of Guadalupe and all of a sudden I saw the face of Jesus there on top of her belly looking at me. Wow I was immediately filled with estatic joy!

peace be with us all here

Thanks for sharing that..Ive had similar experiences..LooK I know y'all look at communion differently..I can adore Jesus anytime as I lift Him up during corporate paraise and worship and at home...Thing is for all those who are "in Christ" God sees the attitude of the heart whether that praise and w.iorship flow at your adoration or mine flows from corporate worship..Thing is we worship Him in spirit and it truth wherever He has placed us....We miss so much by putting limits on the Lord and seeing Him only from our own "church's " lens..We will always see thru the lens darkly till we see Him as He is.Lets press on in our walk desiring all He has for us and be an example to those weaker in their faith in Christ..shalom >kim

I didn't mean limited from your eucharist as the way you see it but some in your camp feel those non catholic as not able to recieve God's fullness because we view things different..Sorry I should have been more clear..Some even believe those none catholic are somehow seperated by even though we are one in Christ and are sealed by the same Holy Spirit..shalom..K

It sounds like you are here because you "have a bone to pick".

But that is your business and not ours, unless you wish to disclose it.

I would like to add that Jesus said that if you do not eat of his flesh and drink his blood then you have no life in you. I can see where Cartholics would see having a fullness in the Catholic Church that Protestants would lack.

I am going to remind everyone that this is not a debate forum.
It is a good place to discuss our ways of worship and to love and respect each other.

There are all sorts of good places to debate.

This is a place to accept each other, just the way they are.

I am not accusing anyone but just a reminder.

We are so blessed to have this forurm. Lets cherish it as it is.

I would like to also share this; that on the following day (on Friday), I stopped at the adoration chapel (that I frequently visit), on the way home from work, and the Lord gave me this vision in the Communion Host: I saw the Blessed Mother (who appeared to be about 14 or 15 years of age) with her head raised up as if she was looking up to heaven praying. Next to her was St. Joseph, (who appeared to be much older.) The impression that I received was that Mary had just found out that she was to be the mother of our Lord, and she was in prayer, along with St. Joseph. This second vision was connected to the first vision, especially the words "The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us".

Interesting...

Have you read the letter from the early church that tells of Joseph being quite old? I believe around 80 or 90 years old.

This is new to me. I had read that tradition said he was quite old (especially Eastern Orthodox tradition) but this is extremely old for a time in history where the life expectancy was just around 40.
The last time I recall Joseph being mentioned in scripture was when jesus was about 12 years old. That could put Joseph in his late 90's or even 100 by your post above.

I would like to read more about this.

I've just discovered this subforum and I think it is wonderful. It would be wonderful to hear more about your visions. I do believe that God speaks to us all in different ways and some do have visions and some will see apparations and etc... these gifts are wonderful blessings and I do hope that you will share what God has shown you here.

This is wonderful and a blessing. Everything that stays within the Catholic teachings is edifying and a blessing. We all can learn from this kind of blessing and I hope that you will share more of what God has shown you.

There better not be any recourse. Visions are truly a gift from our Father when and if they glorify God... if they "point" us to Jesus and do not contradict the Word of God... and the Catholic Magistrate... which I believe your visions probably are from God and do point us to Jesus and hope... love and faith as well as confirming what we are taught in our own faith. I truly hope that you will share them.

Here is one of my most recent visions that I received: Two days ago, when I was at daily mass, when I went up to receive our Lord in Communion, I saw this vision in the Communion Host. Praise the Lord... Amen. I completely understand. This year has been a bit difficult probably for most of us. I wasn't in the Christmas spirit. I did decorate the home and I brought out my Christmas dishes and we put up the tree... but in my heart, I felt so discouraged and hurt and angry along with a lot of other emotions. But on Christmas day, I had read a poem that someone wrote on a Christmas card and I realized that Christmas wasn't about presents and gifts and santa clause... Christmas is about the birth of Christ. I had an epiphany, a miracle in my heart. God is still working on me and your prayers would be wonderful and appreciated. I'm grateful to read your words and I'm grateful that you are sharing the words of your vision. You have no idea what a blessing.

Hi Kim, I know that in your heart, you always mean well. In Christ, we ALL are ONE and I think that is what you meant.

Awesome. I also read that there were some early church Fathers who believed that Joseph was older and had older children from his first marraige. Some people did live longer than 100 years back then or maybe they had a different way of determining age. Joseph was a widow prior to his marraige to Mary. (I think that is in the Bible, if not, I know that I read it in some of the early church Father documents... I think... )

I'll see if I can find more information on this from a Catholic perspective.

God Bless,

Debbie

The Lord is great, is He not ? Every morning when I go to mass, I thank the Lord for giving us the gift of Himself in the Holy Eucharist. I wish that more people would take advantage of this blessing, and try to attend daily mass. If you really want to grow spiritually, this is how to do it. I cannot imagine beginning my day without the Holy Eucharist. He is our source of holiness.
