I thought we could use this thread to add & discuss news stories we hear. Negative or Positive is fine.
One I heard 2 days ago was 4 girls in NY went on the subway with their cell fone cameras & started doing striptease pole dancing to win an internet contest.
That's because commuters on the lines got their two bucks worth - and then some - when four leggy New Yorkers set out to turn the subway cars into strip-club Champagne lounges.
On a dare from a Web site promising $10,000 for the best pole dancing in public, the quartet took a ride on the wild side and their winning video has become a rage on the Internet.

K, I'd be furious if my husband was on that train - does anyone stop to think of OTHER PEOPLE? & from the small clip they showed on the news, the women weren't too thrilled watching it either.
To me, that's forcing people watch becuz they can't leave the train. This one made me seriously angry. The audacity of it.

Gotta love the "bias" of the news article...that pretty much proclaims these young "ladies" as some sort of subway "Wonder Women"

I hadn't even noticed that :swoon: :help:
But it doesn't suprise me any since so many have turned into propoganda machines and stopped doing REAL news reporting many years ago.

Maybe it was just my "bias" that I read it that way...LOL
But...it certainly didn't paint them in a negative way...
...just some young, leggy, vivacious, vixen divas finding a creative way to make a buck between jobs...
I also love the statement...male riders ogling and skipping their stops, females smirking
Depicting pretty much men as sex-starved lust buckets...and women resent young, vivacious girls...

With as bad as this is it can't be as bad as having to stare at the Sara Lee brownie ad day after day after day when it was tough to scrape up the train fare to get to school, and all you had to eat was a box of mac 'n cheese for the week.
Glad we do not have effective mass transit here in Houston.

That ISN'T true??
LOL
But seriously, I think the part about the guys being lust buckets in general may actually be accurate to some extent since sex sells so well... it's sure working on somebody.
And with the level of immorality we see getting worse (and not just the USA), it may be true.
Then again, I'd have to lump the girls in with that - I think they're equally 'sex starved'... but more accurately, "LOVE"/attn. starved.
*note: in my previous post I really did misspell Surprised (suprised)... I know I lub fonix & lazy spelling on purpose, but that one I really did screw up. LOL

So true Cris. Another bias I would expect is that if 4 guys did it they'd be arrested for lude conduct or indecent exposure, which is what should have happened to these girls.
Now if I'd been on that train with one of my sons when he as say 5 or 9 I'd probably be the one going to jail for booting those women off the train :pink:

Do you ever feel like your mind and your fingers have different spelling abilities when it comes to typing something? ^_^
I think mine do, they seem to spell very differently from each other at times. Sometimes I find myself mispelling things that I know perfectly well how to spell. The only reason I can think of is my fingers being rebellious. ;) Thank you Lord for spell checkers, now if I can just remember to use them! :tutu:

Right sister...
Now that you mention it...the article didn't mention anyone trying to stop them...just ogling and smirking...
I'm thinking...children with me or not...I may have had to say something to these young ladies...
I would like to think...not in an obnoxious way...but I certainly would have felt compelled to point out how inappropriate this is...particularly for young women...
...and am thinking...I would have prolly been booed and told to sit back down...
And I think your right...they should be charged with something...I think the article mentioned something to the effect of "disorderly conduct" but no mention of charges actually being filed...

I'm almost positive I'd feel too compelled just to keep silent & watch that trash go on when I had no choice but to have it shoved in my face.
Then again, I wasn't there & maybe God would have had me shut my big yapper. :P
It would be interesting to see how fun it would be for everybody if you started rattling off some bible verses out loud while they did their little act.
(something appropriate of course)

LOL yep!
Unfortunately my posts are so full of lazy fonix that I'd spend more time sifting thru my misspellings that I want to keep than helping me spell the ones I mean to spell right.
Sometimes I get on a thought and start madly typing away... & when I read it over, it looks like a child wrote it! ROFL (errm... i mean by the bad spelling part - not the content ROFL^_^ :P ).

Here is a news clip from this morning that's pretty disgusting on more than one level:
Stripped bare: 'Gay' school plot unveiled 'Infuse LGBTQ curriculum into history, social science, and literature classes'
<snipped>
a pro-homosexual lobbying organization in California has launched its campaign to infuse a "gay" influence into public school curricula.
The Gay Straight Alliance recently forwarded an e-mail to its California chapters with information on how to make sure homosexuality is taught in the state's schools and warned that having students and parents simply "tolerate" homosexuality is not enough.
"In many schools, learning about LGBTQ issues takes the form of very necessary tolerance education where students are educated about the importance of not discriminating against each other," according to GSA documents. "Tolerance education is an important first step, but we need to push further. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59158
Their goal is not to be accepted or understood, it never was. Their goal is indoctrination, manipulation and the crafting of
Bi/Homosexual Youths

When I think of the kids growing up in homes where their parents teach no morals, being brainwashed like this AT SCHOOL, I think no wonder the end times will be so bad!
Are most American parents asleep at the wheel or are they intentionally or unintentionally, although blissfully unaware? Or do they just not care? I thank God for the parents who are willing to stand up for what's right.
I am so thankful to God for laying it on my heart to homeschool!!!:bow: Praise Jesus!

Always surprises me when no one says anything. I don't know why, I probably shouldn't be surprised. I guess I expect better from my fellow human beings.

Well, as long as it's no more than is necessary - although I really imagine sexual orientation affects history a lot less than people give it credit for.
Example, Oscar Wilde, imprisoned for homosexuality. Bit of a no brainer what should be discussed on that topic.
As opposed to, say the invention of the telegraph. If they try and shoehorn LGBTQ in there, well, nevermind ethical concerns, that's just plain silly and a waste of time.
Also, why insist on putting LGBTQ into history, when the T and the Q parts are recent inventions?
And while we're discussing bias, I really would not treat that website as too reliable either, at least on first glance. Anything that gives front page credence to "Soy making kids gay*" is clearly not a great source.
* Phytoestrogens in soy are "feminising," apparently - Really, in that case, why isn't 95% of Asia female?!?! And feminising does not automatically = gay. Link below:

Regarding the soy, I would guess that perhaps Asians have adapted to it due to it being in their diet long term. I believe God designed us to adapt to our environments. I don't really know if they had a time in history when it might have effected them. What I have heard is that European studies found this connection a while back and some European countries even limit the amount of soy that can be put into foods. As a woman who is estrogen dominant I have been told by more than one physician to avoid soy products. So whether there is a connection to it being feminizing or not I don't know, but I wouldn't rule it out. Perhaps we are more sensitive to it's effects because of all the other endocrine disruptors in our diet/environment?

That's a fair point. Lactose intolerance is more prevalent among Asians, afaik...
While there are still estrogens in soy, I think you'd have to consume a serious amount for it to have any effect on your hormones. (Yay for the EU regulations :-D)
Even then, using words like "feminising" and relating it directly to gay is a few jumps too much.
Anyway, that was just one example that I picked up off the front page, I haven't checked all their other articles yet - didn't mean to veer off topic there...

Um, yes the problem IS the parents at home.
2 nights ago on Bill OReilley's show, they had the story of a young guy who was just arrested for selling nude pix of underage girls (the girls were ages 11-14 - & those girls took the pix of themselves & gave them to boyfriends etc.).
Long story short, the bigger issue on the pgrm was that the prosecutor of the case noted that the parents didn't care that the pictures of their girls were out there!!!
Out of all the parents, only one girls' showed any concern & outrage. Imagine that! Is it any wonder those girls at age 11-14 were even taking naked pix of themselves for guys????
God help us.
God promised that we will reap what we sow - & this is what parents are raising... I would hope that isn't the majority of parents, I really don't know.
