Hii,
I had an idea that we could have a thread devoted to books about the Charismatic Renewal. There are so many good ones out there, probably more than I have ever read, and I figured that we could help each other to explore something new.
Does that sound good???
Hope so! well okay, I will post this and see what we can share with each other in our Lord.

Here is an online book that is free. The title is "the Key to Evangelization" but don't let that mislead you at all. It is rightly about spreading the gospel, but surprisingly for some, it will show how the charismatic gifts are paramount in spreading that very gospel!
A great read if you have the time and willingness to be a fisher of men for Jesus.

and
This other ebook I haven't read yet but I feel like the Lord directed me to it. Please let me know what you think of this. From the little I just browsed through, it seems scripturally sound and is helpful to have a bsic introdction to Life in the Holy Spirit. Towards teh end, it helps you to discern what spiritual gift s you might have. It is a good find!

Hey Peaceful,
Glad that you like this thread my sis. I hope that you will add some of the books that have been a blessing to you in the Renewal. I'll bet that you have some good ones on your shelf.
Do you want to share some titles with us and maybe a link to somewhere here online where we can get the books?
Thank you!

I would love to read some books on this topic. I haven't read any myself so i can't add any. But i would love to see what books others recommend!

I would begin with any of Frances MacNutts books.
However, for folks new to the Charismatic Renewal, I love Fr. Michael Scanlan's "Let the Fire Fall".
I had an amazing library. However, when I was in the hosptital with my lung cancer, the folks who owned the storage unit I rented, sold the complex. The new owner swore he had no address for me (I am sure it was a lie) and he sold my entire unit with about half of my 35 year library (an all of my silver pieces that were gifts of my 25th wedding anniversary) antiques and other treasures.
I had a portion of the books at home, Thank God. I had a hard time letting go of this injury, the guy called himself a Christian but he hurt me deeply and my husband even worse.

Here are three books that I highly recommend. Monsignor Vincent M. Walsh is one of my favorite authors on the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. He has been with the Renewal since the beginning and is still going strong. These books were a great formation for me in what the renewal is all about. I hope that you can get your hands on some of them, I see that there are used copies available. I hope these are not your old books Peaceful! !
The Angel to the Church in Philadelpia is one of the best (and one of my personal favorites), that is why I put it first. It is like a long testimony of how this priest became a charismatic in the first place. Amazing things happened.

This is the first ina textbook style, questions and answers of teh renewal. Kind of like the catechism except it focuses on the teaching of Jesus being Lord and the spiritual gifts that He wants us to have to rebuild the Church.

Part two of the book I just mentioned. It was written ten years after the first one and so it has some great reflections on where this renewal is going. Awesome vision of the Church in this book.

So that is it for now!
oh and if you like his books, here is a link to amazon with all the books of his that are available. God bless you!
