In the Catholic Church today, we read the following bible verses and the lesson (what we call the homily) was based on these readings. The priest mostly preached about the blind man Bartimaeus from the Gospel of Mark. Could you list what denomination (or if you are non-denominational) that you belong to and tell me if your readings were the same? If they were different, please list them also.
Old Testament: Jer 31:7-9
Psalm: 126
Epistle: Hebrews 5:1-6
Gospel: Mark 10:46-52
Thank you and God bless,
Edward

No Bible reading this week as it was the assistant pastor giving a message on becoming active in small groups in the church.
We have been going through John and are at the end of John 6 now!
Edited to add: Edward, are the RCC and Episcopal churches on the same schedule of reading? Just curious!

I attend a PCA. There is not a standard such as there is in the RCC as to which passages are read and taught from each week. My particular church normally has one OT passage and one NT passage. One of those is normally the sermon text. My pastor is teaching through the life of Abraham, so our OT readings have been from Genesis. I forget what the NT reading was, though.

Newlamb,
I believe that the two are on the same schedule, but I'm not positive. I think some of the OT readings are different. Any Episcopalians out there? I have heard that some denominations still hold to a traditional schedule and wanted to know which ones do.
