Please pray for archpriest Ivan, long-lived servant of God and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church who needs an emergency transplantation of kidney. The parishioners of priest Ivan and his brothers-in-Christ are doing everything to help him.
Priest Ivan has written a letter to His Holyness Patriarch Maxim, to his eparchial bishop the Bishop of Plovdiv Nicolay, to the lay brothers of the Orthodox Church and to the audience of the internet with request for help.
This is the full text of the letter:
From 20 years with the help of God I’m active clergyman of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, more precisely chairman of the church board to church “Saint priestmartyr Charalampus” and chairman of the church “Saint Boris-Michael” in my town, in last phase of building.
During my due paid leave for this year, which started a month ago, I had a splitting headache and after many tests I went to a hospital. Two days later after another tests it was found that my two kidneys are chronically ill from 30 years and that they are dried up and does not functioning. After 7 days under treatment the head physician along with medical commission put me under hemodialysis every other day to sustain my life temporarily. He told me that the only solution is urgently transplantation of kidney as quickly as possible, which is very expensive, more than 30 000 – 40 000 dollars. My father has problems with the heart from an year and he is also an invalid.I doesn’t have so much money.
I beg everybody for help. Please help me, do mercy and compassion to me, the sinful servant of God, save one human life.I know that when many people help everything will be more easy for all of us.I do not loss hope and I won’t lose my faith and love to God, our fair Judge.I’m 52 years old, I have helped to everyone with everything I could – to parishioners, to everyone who has turned to me.But my desire is another, something different wants my heart: the righteous work which I have started since 13 years, the building of the new temple in our town “Saint Boris-Michael”, which as I have said above is in the last phase of building.I hope God will honour me with His mercy and the joy to see in a finished state this magnificent temple so needed for our town.
I believe in God’s mercy and compassion, I trust in the servants of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Christians – PLEASE save one human life.
Respectfully yours:
Archpriest Ivan
