will be having surgery on Thursday.

He has degenerative disc disease/an arthritic spine (Theophorus will understand :) )

The surgeon will try to rebuild (2?) vertebrae.

We are so blessed that this will happen on St. Nicholas' Feastday !!

The surgery went well: the surgeon reported that the rebuilding process went quite nicely. He was also able to "untangle" and release the nerves that had been caught in the 'prongs' of the vertebrae. God is good !!!
