Please pray for the newly departed servant of the Lord, Alexander. He reposed yesterday, at age 93.
He spoke no English, and many of us speak no Russian, but we didn't need words to communicate. He was much loved in our parish. He was a Russian Jew who fought in the "Great and Patriotic War" against the Germans in the Siege of Moscow, and served in Siberia after the War. He and Vladyka Dmitri enjoyed exchanging stories of their service during the War.
He was baptized into the Church at age 84.
May his memory be eternal!
