I had promised to start a thread and figure this all out on Dec. 1, but it didn't happen. :sorry:
Nick says his book supply at the moment is depleted :( but that I should be able to find SOMEthing. But we keep missing each other!!! So I haven't picked up the books yet, so that's why I hadn't started this thread yet.
Just wanted to let y'all know you weren't forgotten!!! Hopefully I'll get them picked up this week and we can sort out who's already read what and who gets what.

Ok, here's the dealy-o.
I guess the whole books thing with Nick is not going to be like it has been in the past. I think it's just depleted his resources too much and he's taking a break from it for a while (he's spent thousands on this little ministry of his, and I'm sure everyone has a stopping point, financially). So I apologize that I might not be able to follow through as well as I hope - BUT! - where there's a will there's way.
Soooooooooo after talking to Father and going through my own bookshelves and the pamphlet rack at church, this is what I have:
3 copies of "Homeland of Your Heart's Desire: The Orthodox Teaching on How to Be Saved", by Clark Carlton.
One copy of "What Every Protestant Should Know about the Orthodox Church" by Clark Carlton (this one's going to AJ, hopefully I can come up with another one).
One copy of "Thirsting for God"
And about ten other books (single copies) that may or may not be useful - hubs is in bed, so I will dig through the bookshelf tomorrow and tell everyone exactly what I have, so hopefully you can tell me what you've already read and we can determine who gets what.

no worries, Orthosdoxa, you can only do what you can do. :)
I'd still love a copy of "What Every Protestant Should Know...", but if you can't get a hold of another one, we'll pick one up eventually.
If you can part with "Thirsting For God", that's another one that we've been wanting for months now. :)
and i'd love to know what others you have that you may be parting with as well. :)

Ok, after digging through our bookshelves, this is what we have:
FIVE (not 3) copies of "Homeland of Your Heart's Desire: The Orthodox Teaching on How to Be Saved", by Clark Carlton.
TWO (not 1) copies of "What Every Protestant Should Know about the Orthodox Church" by Clark Carlton. (I also have one copy of the Catholic counterpart from this book, but none of yinz come from a RC background - correct? - so I don't think it applies.)
TWO copies of "Discovering the Rich Heritage of Orthodoxy" by Fr. Charles Bell.
ONE copy "The Faith: Understanding Orthodox Christianity" by Clark Carlton
ONE copy "The Life: An Orthodox Catechism" by Clark Carlton.
ONE copy "A beginner's guide to prayer" by Michael Keiser
A handful of very thin pamphlet type books.
Soooooooooo.... here is where I am right now. And please, no one be mad at me if I give a book you want to someone else- I wish I had more to go around. :( I'm giving Eric and AJ the book I was talking about to begin with because it's likely more difficult for them to obtain that book being as they're minors, Ken has the Gallatin book which is just as good, and Katya has an Orthodox husband who knows what she'll need as far as learning goes! So please, no one throttle me.
If you don't want something or have already read it, let me know and we'll shuffle.
AJ- The Way, Homeland of Your Heart's Desire, a few various booklets
Eric - The Way, Homeland of Your Heart's Desire, a few various booklets
Ken - Homeland of Your Heart's Desire, a few various booklets, Discovering the Rich Heritage of Orthodoxy, The Life
Katya - Homeland of Your Heart's Desire, a few various booklets, Discovering the Rich Heritage of Orthodoxy, A beginner's guide to prayer, The Faith (I think that one would be really good to read with Juvenaly - it's thick, and it makes for good discussion.)
Let me know if anyone already has anything, and I'll hopefully get this finalized and mailed next week.

My sincerest apologies, I've been really busy and have been away from the forum for awhile. Now Orthodoxsa, do you mean The Way as in the Way of the Pilgrim? If so, I already have that. I do not have the other one. The Way of a Pilgrim is the only Orthodox book I have. :]
Thanks a bunch.

Nope - "The Way" is a book about the history of Orthodoxy vs. Protestantism. The author doesn't mince words, but I think you're ready for his kind of bluntness. "Way of a Pilgrim" is good, too. :)

You know - I have often suspected I had no Life - but at least I have Faith!!! :D
(it's been that kind of week!)
Rich Heritage and Hearts Desire sound great!
Any 'little extra spare booklets' sounds good too!
And did you say you had a spare copy of "What every Protestant Should Know" or did I miss that post? (been a rough week - probably missed the post?)
 more input!!! :D

Okley dokley - the books are all packaged up, wrapped tight in manilla envelopes and sealed VERY tightly with clear packing tape, as I am paranoid about things tearing and contents of packages spilling loose.
The return sticker is Homer Simpson's head, from the episode where he saw his face on the Japanese laundry detergent. :D (Just so you know who it's from when you see it!)
God willing, they'll be going out in the morning. I look forward to them helping our inquirers (hopefully).
PS - Sorry Ken- I only had two copies of "the Way", and had to make a hard choice of who to give them to, and chose our two youngest members, as I felt the adults might have an easier time obtaining it on their own. :( If I come across another copy, though, I'll let you know!

I'll need the ISBN for InterLibrary Loan...
Well, you can ask AJ or Eric for it in a week or so. ;) Or perhaps someone lurking on this thread who has a copy would be nice enough to post it.
