New Fun Thread, NO SPEED POSTING, Please: Last Post When Thread Closes is King/Queen

I don't like doing this, particularly since I was one of the members here who took the original fellowship thread of this type in the wrong direction the last few days. I apologize if this new thread offends anyone.

The original of that series of threads was to encourage fellowship, and have a good laugh. I helped take those threads in the wrong direction. Even though initially I disapproved of "speed posting" for the sake of running the thread out, I participated in it, and even won the sixth thread title. But I don't feel good about it, and I won't do it again.

So, this thread is the same as the original series, with a couple of exceptions. There is no speed posting allowed. More than two posts back to back should be considered "speed posting" and should be avoided, please. Other than that, anything goes. Post as often as you like, but try to reply to others' posts as a way of "dethroning" them rather than laying out multiple posts for the purpose of "winning" the title. That's not the purpose here. The purpose is to love one another, fellowship with one another, and have fun, maybe helping with prayer requests or anything else you feel like posting along the way.

I've been divorced 15 years, raised my kids by myself, and I've had one serious relationship in that time. We complemented each nearly perfectly, but her own relationships in the past had caused so much grief for her, she came to realize she wasn't healthy enough at that point to have a relationship. I've never found another like her. Don't know that I ever will. And why I'm sharing this on a "fun thread" I have no idea. Oh, well. I have clients coming in all day. See ya all tonight.

Is it hard to date at 55?As long as you're "acting your age" and dating someone reasonably close to it, no. If you're one of my contemporaries who seem to think they need to marry someone 20-30 years younger, I don't know, but I'd imagine that's hard. Why would a 25-yr-old woman want to have anything to do with me, even if I do keep myself in shape and stay active? Intellectually and emotionally we have nothing in common, and a relationship is far more than just physical, which (I know as a psychologist) is what the guy my age looking for someone young enough to be his daughter is really after.

Young people (not you Shivers, I'm just taking the soap box you laid out before me) learn that physical is the least of what a marriage is about!
