Thanks for the link. So the point was just to inform people? If that's the case that's fine. I had never been exposed to Calvinism through the church, that I was aware of, until I heard someone outside the SB church talk on it and it hit like a mack truck. It's funny because something that would seem pretty important to at least have an understanding of, like Reformed Theology, is just never addressed. I wish we would talk about this kind of stuff more in SB churches.
Of course it's possible I've lived in a hole but I've been a member of 4 SBC churches and attended numerous others.

I hear this often. IMHO it's due to the SBC still in recovery from a liberal period that began in the 1960's and ended in 1978. There are many new SBC churches teaching sound doctrine today. It took a generation to retire to begin a real movement back to our roots.

Hey! I went to the last 6 years of secondary school in Taylors, SC. :)
I like his closing statement:
"Let us be peaceful, Christ-like in our discussions, but let us be diligent in our study."
I believe this is the key. And, it is often dropped out. We often talk past each other, despite our theology often being pretty close. I wish I could have gone to this conference, or that they would hold something similar here.
