this thread did the rounds on the SF/PC forum not so long ago...

i can sort of grasp where he is coming from, because the swords have not yet been beaten into ploughshares!

p.s. i think it would be better to read the book and then comment rather than watching a two minute you tube video!

I was watching a clip on my other thread "Pastor Joel Osteen" that had a video clip of John MacArthur exposing Billy Graham as having admitted that others will make it into heaven even though they don't believe in Jesus.

So now its hard to believe who is really the Lord's and who isn't.. Only God knows.

I did read through the book. What Hagee said is reported accurately in the article that I posted the link for. John needs to spend a little more time in the NT I think. :o

He could use a tad more teaching truth instead of "Empire Building."

SInce he is not "the husband of one wife" (divorced and remarried) he should not be teaching anyway according to the standards of the NT.

SInce he is not "the husband of one wife" (divorced and remarried) he should not be teaching anyway according to the standards of the NT.Seems you know more about him than I.
I've never cared for his teachings, too similar to all the "Church Builders". Not enough "Feeding My Sheep."
Send me your dollars and dimes, aw, forget about the dimes and up the dollars to fives, tens, twenties and don't forget the hundreds.
After I heard him say "I don't want to sit next to a theif, you're robbing God."

SInce he is not "the husband of one wife" (divorced and remarried) he should not be teaching anyway according to the standards of the NT.Standards of the Church. The standard that Sha'ul set was the "Husband of one wife." the Church extended it to divorced and remarried.

While I appreciate his sincerity and his willingness to defend Israel. I think he is way too extreme at times. I've read the book In Defense of Israel as well and if he's hoping to use the argument in that video above as he does in the chapter to answer Christian critics (especially reformists and covenant theologians) it will do nothing more than push them away and continue to see Christian Zionism as being heresy. He goes way to far and his explanation is ludicrous.

http://apostasywatch.com/special/hageerebuttal.htm Matthew 26:62. Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" 63. But Jesus remained silent.
The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ (Messiah), the Son of God."

64. "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

Paul Zink Florida director for Friends of Israel in Florida, on his 11/11/07 service, announced that he is not in agreement with Hagee's position and thinks it is a dual convanent theology. Mr Zink is pastor of New Life Christian Fellowship in Jacksonville and very involved with Paul Wilbur.
He he wanted to distant himself for Hagee's controversial views and spent the whole service pointing out the many scriptures that clearly refute Hagee's position. You can listen or watch the service if interested here http://www.nlcf.org/media/#

Aviad is a nice young man, but I am not sure why he is using that ISR Scriptures translation :o

Here are a few more passages that he should have touched on, so let’s review what the New Testament says about Jesus and His Messianic claims, as well as the view of others in the first century who knew Jesus, and how they viewed Him:

Luke 2
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. And this man was righteous and devout, eagerly expecting the Consolation of Israel. And the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 And it happened to him, having been divinely instructed by the Holy Spirit, he was not to see death before he would see the Christ of the Lord.

Matthew 16
15 He said to them, But you, whom do you say Me to be?
16 And answering, Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in Heaven.

John 1
41 This one first found his own brother Simon and tells him, We have found the Messiah, which being translated is, the Christ.

John 4
25 The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, the One called Christ. When that One comes, He will announce to us all things.
26 Jesus said to her, I the One speaking to you am He.

John 10
24 Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and you did not believe. The works which I do in the name of My Father, these bear witness about Me.

Matthew 26
62 And standing up, the high priest said to Him, Do you answer nothing? What do these witness against you?
63 But Jesus kept silent. And answering, the high priest said to Him, I put You on oath by the living God that You tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Jesus said to him, You said it. I tell you more. From this time you shall see the Son of Man sitting off the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the heaven.

It appears that everyone in first century Israel, as well as everyone reading the New Testament today should clearly understand who Jesus, as well as others claimed He was:

Matthew 2
2 saying, Where is He born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.

Matthew 27
11 And Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor questioned Him, saying, Are You the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, You say it.

Matthew 27
28 And stripping Him, they put a scarlet cloak around Him.
29 And plaiting a crown of thorns, they placed it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And bowing the knee before Him, they mocked at Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews.

Matthew 27
37 And they put up over His head His charge, it having been written: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Mark 15
8 And crying aloud, the crowd began to beg him to do as he always did to them.
9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Do you desire I should release to you the king of the Jews?

Mark 15
12 But answering again, Pilate said to them, What then do you desire I do to him whom you call king of the Jews?

Mark 15
18 And they began to salute Him, Hail, king of the Jews!

Luke 23
36 And coming near, the soldiers also mocked Him and were offering vinegar to Him,
37 and saying, If You are the king of the Jews, save Yourself.
38 And also an inscription was written over Him, in Greek and Latin and Hebrew letters: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 And one of the hanged criminals blasphemed Him, saying, If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.

Matthew 27
41 And in the same way, the chief priests with the scribes and elders, mocking, said,
42 He saved others; He is not able to save Himself. If He is the King of Israel, let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe Him.

John 18
33 Then Pilate again went into the praetorium and called Jesus, and said to Him, Are You the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Do you say this from yourself, or did others tell you about Me?

John 19
12 From this, Pilate sought to release Him. But the Jews cried out, saying, If you release this One, you are not a friend of Caesar. Everyone making himself a king speaks against Caesar.

John 19
14 And it was the Preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, Behold, your King!
15 But they cried out, Away, Away! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king except Caesar.

John 19
20 Therefore, many of the Jews read this title, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city. And it had been written in Hebrew, in Greek, in Latin.
21 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews, but that One said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.

Acts 3
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you (Jews), in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

It is written:

1John 2
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

I don't think quoting from Revelation adds to Aviad's position as that talks about future events.

I also don't think Hagee is a po preacher from Texas who would be influenced by anti-missionaries for extra cash to make a trailer payment.
I like Aviad's music and glad he spoke out.
