Howdy,

I'm a Catholic looking for a Non-Catholic view on the following questions?

Do you think you are going to Heaven? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)

Do you consider yourself saved? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)

Do you consider these 2 question ask the same thing?

Yes, yes, yes

My view of scripture is that my eternal life began at the point of my salvation.
My view of scripture reveals that my salvation is assured, thus my eternal life has already begun.

Ever consider that when Jesus told the man on the cross; "Today you will be with me in paradise", that Jesus wasn't talking about His earthly death and resurrection into eternal life? Many people lived for days on a cross, but Jesus said "Today".

Hello.

Do you think you are going to Heaven? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)
Yes, because I have been reconciled to God through faith in Christ's vicarious atonement on the cross and adopted into His family. Boy, that was a mouthful.

Do you consider yourself saved? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)
Yes, because of my faith in Christ and His sacrifice on my behalf.

Do you consider these 2 question ask the same thing?
Hmm...Yes and no.

Everyone who is saved will go to Heaven but, to baptists, anyway, the idea of being saved is more than that - it's the idea that we are now reconciled to God with our sins forgiven once and for all and that we can now wak in a right relationship with Him.

Yes, they're the same thing :)

Yes, I am saved. I wrote this earlier:

How do I know I am saved, and when am I saved?

Giving your life to Christ. Repenting and accepting His forgiveness for your sins, seeking and following His will through prayer and scripture, by having faith and the works to demonstrate it. It is stated this way because of the common trend in the Church today is, "I'm a Christian because my Mom/Dad were", have "because I was baptized". It's teaching that the faith must be yours, not your parents; it's not genetic.

No, not everyone will be saved who thinks that they are. Saying some prayer your pastor made up, getting baptized, being a basically good person, saying you believe in Jesus, or being "born a Christian" are common reasons people give for why they are saved. Unfortunately none of these things are going to get you to heaven.

Do you think you are going to Heaven? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)

Well, I sure hope so. lol Yes, I believe that I am going to heaven. I have faith that my Lord, Jesus Christ, bore my sins on the cross and that I was granted forgiveness. So, this wittle sheep is clean and ready for the trip.

Do you consider yourself saved? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)
Yup, in many different ways. I was not only saved from hell, but it was given the power to be saved from the sins that haunt me during this life of mine. I'm not at their mercy with the strength and power of God to defend and protect me. :)

Do you consider these 2 question ask the same thing?
Eh, in some ways 'yes'. In other ways, it could be taken as a different question. If that doesn't occur to someone, maybe they should wiggle out of the box, eh? :) There is always more than one way to look at a question.

Do you think you are going to Heaven? I don't "think", I know. Jesus paid for my sins in full. How do I know? God's Word, Holy Baptism, and Christ's Body and Blood that I receive at the Lord's Table assure me and give me a peaceful comfort that I know I will go to Heaven.

Do you consider yourself saved? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why) Yes. Christ conquored death, the devil, and sin for me.

Do you consider these 2 question ask the same thing? Is this a trick question? lol

Okay but is this a question? ;)

Do you think you are going to Heaven? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)
Yes becasue I have asked him to pay a debt I could not pay and I have confessed him as my Lord. I have become a disciple of Christ.

Do you consider yourself saved? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)
Yes for the same reasons as above.

Do you consider these 2 question ask the same thing?
No because I ma saved now but I will go to heaven later. Going to heaven is only part of salvation. Saslvation starts now. I have a relationship with God now and that is what matters most.

Most certainly saved and assured of a place in heaven! Yep, also enjoying a piece of heaven while on my way to heaven!

How do I know? The Bible tells me so and so does His Spirit in me! Glory!

Howdy!

It doesn't matter what "I think", God's Word gives me the assurance that Jesus Christ has gone to prepare a place for me.

Do you consider yourself saved? (If yes, no or don't know, please explain why)

Yes, again... the Word of God gives the plan of salvation. When the questions is asked, "What must I do to be saved?".... I qualified... " I believe"

Do you consider these 2 question ask the same thing?
I believe both questions ask about my measure of faith in Jesus Christ. But one question concerns the gift of salvation while the other question concerns the reward for that same gift.

Hi, I have no doubt what so ever that when I die that I will go straight to Heaven and be with my Father! My Father has promised to me that my faith in Jesus and His work on the cross will insure my entrance into Heaven (2Ti 1:12).

And with my faint in my Father's Son whom He sent to save me I know that He will never forsake me (Php 1:6)!

You make ask in as many different ways you like, for I don't mind explaining God's love!

Merry Christmas! :)
