Note: This is an old (read: Aug 10, 07) post from another forum, but as we near the end (we have 6 weeks left unless she comes early or late) of this journey we can use all of the prayers we can get. Thanks.
---

We have returned from our trip to the imaging center and we are proud to announce that we are the proud parents of a baby GIRL!

Yes I realize that this means that I was wrong in my previous assessment of the sex of our baby but hey, I can admit when I was wrong and God was right!

For those that are wondering I am freaking thrilled to be having a daughter. The gender of the baby is really of no consequence to me because the ultimate joy here is that my dream of being a father is still coming true.

There is only one thing that changes now that I now that it IS a girl. Now I need to go buy a gun and start practicing my shooting skills for when my daughter is old enough (read: 30 yrs old) to date.

Her name is Talia Noelle and she is due on the 21st of December. Talia is Russian for "born at Christmas." It fits, no? The image above is one of the ultrasound pics we got back.

I thank you all for your prayers and well wishes and support. It is greatly appreciated and we will keep you updated.

We've got so many TAW babies around here we should start a subforum called "The Nursery". :D

PS - get sleep now, while you still can. ;)

I think that that would be a great idea (the sub forum and the sleep!) because that way, not only can we share pictures and milestones, (baptisms etc.) but we can get parenting advice from those that have been there and done that multiple times over!

Who's ear do we need to pull on to get something like that started. You got my vote!

Congratulations! As the father of two girls (15 and 19) I can say that you are in for some great experiences (I am sure that those who have boys do too, but I have no experience with that).

As for the gun, so as to inflict as little damage as possible, yet get your point across, a .38 with a ratshot load works just great! ;)

We have had 4 babies born into our parish since July - - all of them girls! We have at least 2 more babies on the way.

So you're looking at a near-Christmas birth? That's cool!

Love the name! (My oldest's middle name happens to be Noell)

One of the many joys a mother can experience (IMHO)is watching her husband bond with their children.

On sleep deprivation...it'll happen but it's hard to get irritated when changing your baby's diaper at 2 a.m. and she's giving you the biggest toothless grin she can!^_^

You'll be wrapped around that tiny finger in no time!

I have to agree with you here, on several points. even now, before our baby is born, I have loved and enjoyed my dear husband's amazing desire to be involved in anything and everything involving my pregnancy and our child. I know that it will bring me great joy to see him bond with her after she's born.

yes, I expect sleep-deprivation, but as you say, I doubt we'll be "irritated" when she wakes us in the middle of the night... plus, i've been told you lose a lot LESS sleep when you breastfeed and co-sleep, which is what we are planning on doing. :)

I hope BF/ co-sleeping works out for you and Talia, I tried BF with DD #1 and I wasn't able to. Your baby will definitely be a cutie. I cant wait to see pics when she gets here! :)
