I was just reading through this website called Brotherhood of St. Symeon and was wondering if it is a canonical Orthodox website?

Some of the things I read on it sounded so much like the charismatic church teachings I have learned in the past.

Umm....how can he say things so blatantly against the Orthodox Church and not be chastised for it? (See his articles)

I mean...even at old (Pentecostal) church...if a pastor did that about the Assemblies of God - he would certainly be questioned for it if not disciplined.

He has been excommunicated.

I wonder if he believes in the Rapture and the 1000 year reign. From reading his websiet, one can come to that conclusion.

Oh boy. I bet he could recruit some members from the MJ Forum here.

Fr Seraphim Rose has much info on Fr Eusebius Stephanou in his book "Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future" especially pertaining to the "new outpouring of the Holy Spirit" and charismatic revival.

Most Orthodox Parishes mention and link you to their Jurisdiction (EVEN the non-canonical schismatic ones), this one only lists their tax-exempt status.

The IRS might consider this a "church" , but in Orthodoxy, there are NO "Lone Rangers"

I have had a similar question about the Brotherhood of St. Poimen. What jurisdiction is it? I read their whole page and could find nothing about their bishops, etc. Here is the link: http://members.cox.net/orthodoxheritage/

Again, Just a quick look.. and I see no mention of belonging to a jurisdiction of any kind. and use their IRS tax status to legitimize themselves. Looks suspicious to me.
