Here is a very nice new Christian Forum. It's been around for a while, but is under new management and the name and server have been changed:

Tell me - do you go into your local Target and promote Wal-Mart?

Dontcha think this is just kinda disrespectful to the owners of this forum - where you are advertising for another forum?

I'm trying to help out a friend. No disrespect. It's like going into the student union of Harvard and putting up an add for UCLA.

technically this post breaks the rules, but personally i think foru.ms are just frightened of people leaving and going elsewhere. ( is suspect at some point the OP will be told to move it into favourite web links).

maybe a new thread should be started.

This isnt Walmart, and as christians shouldnt we be encouraging others. Maybe someone will go on that Forum and have a profound moment that they may have otherwise missed.

I go on two other forums, that hasnt stopped me coming on to this one.

No, it's not Wal-Mart - but it does cost money to operate the site, maintain servers and pay for broad band. And that is funded by the number of hits the site gets, so it is in fact a business.

Do you hand out fliers for your church events at another church? Why not? Couldn't people be blessed at your church?

It's not a rule violation - but speaking only as a member of this forum - I think it's rude.

BTW - I am on three other forums.

Actually I agree with Balance here. I would never dream of coming on here and posting flatout my forum's link. Now if you want to look on my homepage here and click on my external website. There is nothing wrong with that.

Just want to comment - I think that is a great idea actually - its wonderful when we can all gather together as one - and better understand each other as part of one team - not that going to another church would cause that but just the very thought of encouraging one another to fellowship with people from another church or area is IMO beneficial :) ........and it doesn't mean we'd leave our local church...

ok, i had to laugh.....one Sunday years ago our pastor told us to get out the next Sunday and go to another church and he would be doing the same. the reason behind it was to come back with fresh ideas for our church of what to do and what not to do.

and yes, we always have fliers and announcements of other events going on in the community. Our church is outward focused and serving oriented, so this is not at all unusual for us. We are comming up on 2,000 members and it is our Pastor's goal that we make an impact on our community.

Two years ago our pastor heard of another church in the community whose pastor was ill, hospitalized, and would not be able to hand out Thanksgiving baskets that year. Our church took his list, made up baskets, and delivered them. Just Christians helping other Christians.

as for other sites, I am a mod and site supporter both here and at another Christian site.
I am also a member of:
3 other Christian sites (in addition to this one)
1 site for testing
1 site for Admins
1 alternative religion site
4 quilting sites
1 site for fans of a specific TV program
1 prophetic site
5 family history sites
2 sites dedicated to my home town and high school

I guess if all this is funded with how many hits this site gets, my question would be where does all the money go from site supporters?
