I come to you humbled and in need of prayer.

Due to a series of events over the past 4 months that I've had little control over my children and I are facing evictions within 5 days.

I've been separated from my wife the past 5 years. During that time I set up marriage counseling through a pastor and counseling service. Through it all my wife continued to say she would never change being who she is or what she does.

She has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse. A year ago she had another man move in with her. He's been there ever since. During this time her drug and alcohol abuse escalated and she became physically abusive to our 2 daughters who will soon be 7 and 9.

The girls came for a visit with me the beginning of July and have been with me since then. They wouldn't go home and had insisted I take them to talk with children services. I acted on child services recommendations not to return the girls to mom and get an attorney.

We went through a 7 1/2 hour trial after which we both went for drug testing. She tested positive. I have custody of the girls and they only see Mom on supervised visits.

When the girls first came with me all they had was 2 sets of clothes, both short outfits. We live in Northern Ohio. I have replace all there clothing and got them enrolled in our local schools. There Mom hasn't help with any thing.

For the past 4 months I've been paying on the child support order of $179 a week and all current child care and expenses on the girls. I've also been taking them for supervised visitation 2 times a week. It's 35 miles one way on country roads. I've been having to pay to get them there.

5 weeks ago I was forced to go on sick leave. Praise God I go back to work next week. I did a work sheet recently to show income versus expenses as I was trying to get some help. I've been running in debt about $200 a week. Over the past 17 weeks I find myself $3400 in the hole.

There is light as the end of the tunnel!

Over the past 5 weeks, while on sick leave, through faith God has provided our needs. But the biggest of our needs has yet to be meet, RENT.

The other day I get great news. The court had finally set in motion a new order on child support. I will no longer have to pay as I have the girls. I am also due all support paid by me back to July 17th in addition to about $360.00 a month.

The bad news is my wife has spent all the monies she had been given. It will take 2-4 years for child support to collect back what she has received the past 4 months.

Now to add to my demise. My cars transmission is now failing to operate properly and I need to replace it or the car. Either way I can't afford it right away.
I have sought help. But because of my gross income prior to sick leave I don't qualify for much. None of the agencies give credit for the support payments I made of $179 a week.

Veterans Services can help with $418.00 as I'm a disabled vet. I'm still in need of about $1000 in the next 46 hours plus what ever the car needs.

Your Prayers are needed to wit,

1. The landlords attorney accepts a payment plan to bring me current and we don't lose our apartment or funds become available.

2. The problem with the car repair or replacement has a quick positive outcome.

I'm a new member of a small church that is unable to help.

God Bless You!
David

Although I haven't been in the same situation as you I have experienced severe monetary problems. I pray that the Lord will make His providence apparent to you. Remember, it doesn't always happen the way we wish it would, but in the long run the outcome is always for the best!!! Praying for you and your girls. They are lucky to have you in their lives, and I'm sure they love you very, very much!

Lord Jesus I pray today to you to ask for your help for this man and his family. Lord Jesus, may the Landlord have compassion in their heart and accept the payment plan. We ask for your miraculous help with the car so that it may be put in good working order - that it may not be a big problem after all. Lord Jesus, we are so often tested financially, sometimes it feels we have buckled, sometimes our prayers are not answered as we would wish but one thing we do know Lord is that in time to come we know Your hand was there, we know You had purpose for our lives, that You needed to guide us in our hope and faith in You. In your loving Name we pray. Amen.

David, how are things going? I'm praising God that you were able to care for your daughters and get the child support order reversed, and that God provided for your needs while you were out sick. I'm thanking him that you were able to return to work. And I'm praying that he continues to provide for you in the area of rent and transportation. I'm also praying for your wife.
