Students nationwide kicked off a campaign Monday aimed at ending the culture wars over issues like homosexuality that have divided Americans.
The annual “Allies, Too” campaign is rallying Christian students this week to commit to making their campuses safe and harassment free and to advocate "true tolerance" and diversity, particularly when it comes to differing - and sometimes opposing – views on homosexuality.

I do agree that someone who disagrees with homosexuality does not equal homophobic or bigot.
Too often the tolerance being sought gets twisted into a double edged sword that cuts both ways. Those who seek tolerance also need to practice it even in disagreement.

Excellent! They're standing by their traditional beliefs while at the same time publicly opposing the hate and bigotry.
“Allies, Too” participants commit to the belief that "sexuality was purposefully created for marriage between a man and a woman" and that "a homosexual, bisexual or transgender identity and/or behavior are outside of the intentional design of human relationships and sexuality, and therefore aren’t what’s best for us, regardless of whether we are drawn to them," according to the campaign's core principles. The "Allies, Too" statement against homosexuality is about the strongest one I personally could endorse, being bisexual myself and about 2/3 oriented to the gay side. I do think their statement represents what God had in mind for the vast majority of people, but I think He also knows it isn't what works for all of us, that He made some of us a little different. I have tried to make a long-term heterosexual relationship work for me, and was even married once, long ago. I'm sorry, but it's just not me, and I've learned to love myself the way I am... and that God loves me the way I am.
