It common knowledge that there is lack of charity & even downright dislike in various Christian circles.

It's not limited to only Christianity but it seems to be most prevalant in Christianity when one is called to be the light of the world & to love one's enemies.

Disagreement is one thing but it tends to go beyond that where we forget about our commonalities. The basis of our faith, Jesus Christ.

I understand defending belief through discussion but it does seem superfluous to argue worship traditions to the exclusion of all else. Mainly the basic foundation & principals of Christianity.

It seems that instead of working together as one Body for the good of all is ignored to the point of wanting to exclude from the rest of the Body of believers even in social justice/charity situations.

Why is this? I don't understand why a fundamentalist believer & an Orthodox believer cannot work with a another believer in the hopes of being a light for Christ in the world in hopes of furthering the Kingdom of God.

It tend to be a my way or the highway attitude which in turn, (I believe) tends to cripple the Body of Christ's mission in the world.

My simple opinion.

Pride & ego.

Saving people from what they perceive to be error.

Whether right or wrong.

People that tend to think they found it & understand it all can't wait to educate others.

Is Jesus enough?

Sometimes I wonder within Christian circles. You'd think it was correct theology that saves. And I'm talking the frills. Not the basic foundation.

Brothers & sisters in Christ. I'm not so sure all Christians believe that. Forgetting the whole concept of the Body of Christ with it's different parts for different purposes. Working towards the same goal for the same Lord. Everyone tends to think that their understanding is the only correct one.

But as we journey our understanding tends to change with our growth. That Scripture that spoke to me last year in a certain way may speak to me differently today.

We are definitely not on the same page most of the time it seems.

I wish I understood it, really. My life took some of the most jacked up turns and still ended up here, and because I have made soooooo many horrible mistakes, yet am forgiven by my Lord, I refuse to be hateful to people because they aren't where I am right now. Heck, I'm not even sure where I am right now. God and I work on it together every day. I am busy enough trying to get my own walk right, who am I to judge someone else's.

Well what gets me is that Christianity is supposed to be different. But in this regard it seems to be no different than other groups that splinter.

It gives off a very bad witness to the observer.

Like I said, it is ok to disagree.

But it seems that there are some that think theology & politics saves instead of Jesus Christ.

Of course we all abide or should abide by the foundational principals of Christianity. But I think people have picked up politics as a second religion & intertwined it with their Christianity.

It does not work.

If someone worships under a different Christian roof than the other, the commonalities should be acknowledged before the differences.

Jesus Christ being foremost acknowledged as the foundation of all our belief.
