Kind of a rock guy, though I also like some pop, country, blues, classical, yada yada. If its good I like it. Some good stuff in the 80s through today, but I think the best music came from the late 60's through the 70s (excluding disco).

Yeah, they are a bit, but then, I always thought that about G&R's lead singer too. I always thought he sounded like a Tomcat about to get into a fight.

LOL! Sorry. I really liked the Wille Nelson version, and generally, I cannot stand it when people redo other people's songs, but this one is really, really good.

I like some things in all catagories of music.
It really depends on my mood.
But if the lyrics suck it just kills it for me.
I love Leonard Cohen. He was before my time really but the guy just moves me. :D

The sheer mass of what would have to be replaced makes it most unworth-it. Easier to stick a penny on it. :D
I grew up in a relatively Luddite household, so I'm used to this sort of thing. In 1993 my brother lost it and bought my parents a color TV with a remote ^_^ They still have a victrola with the 78s.

Fortunately for my daughter, I was a Punk Rocker in my day. So, when she was 14 and wanted to dye her hair green, I let her do one strand. It was summer and I made her promise that it had to be gone by school even if it meant cutting her hair.

I have eclectic tastes, ranging from punk and heavy metal to baroque harpsichord music. At this moment, I'd have to say my favorite artist is Alison Krauss.

In Utero is definitely good- it's hard to start an album with a line better than 'teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm old and bored' I kind of wish Kurt had written more songs while locked in his bedroom listening to Meet the Beatles!, since he wrote pretty fantastic pop songs.
I'm a total music nerd but mainly listen to jazz (post-bop, bossa nova, modal), hip-hop, and funk.
edit: and the Beach Boys. Brian Wilson (whom I'm probably related to) was one of the few geniuses of modern music.
