The bad would be.... that we can't boot any troublemakers for 24 hours but all other congregation forums CAN?

What isn't a topic of conversation over there?

I find it ironic how they all huddle together and meddle in other's affairs and make all their ridicule & judgments on people... yet never bother to look at what they're actually doing...
using PEOPLE as their main method of entertainment to mock, laugh at, judge and attack in malice.

Yet "everyone else" is so messed up & in need of help.

It's actually THEM that needs the life and THEM that have the character problems that need fixing; it's so befitting of Jesus' statements about taking the huge beams out of your own eye before you can see to judge or fix the little splinter that you see in somebody elses eye.

They don't see their own sickness as to what they're actually doing; observing people in their fishbowls and making them their sole obsession; marking their every move and making judgments & observations.
It's one way to keep from judging yourself and cleaning up your own misconduct.

Self righteous spirit - everybody ELSE looks so terrible & hypocritical but not bothering w/ any introspection.

So yes, I've seen it and I haven't gone back there since seeing them in my pm's.

I dont' think more attacks on the people here or CC (lumping everyone together) is exactly the proper remedy... namely when you wouldn't "take sides" while you were here.
I'm not angry at you, just that it's not fair to leave then come here & leave snipes & complaints now.

Not everybody here is doing everything wrong either. Alot of this is all hungover from the previous month's issues - where people who were here were involved in 'wars'... so there's plenty of blame to throw around everywhere in my opinion.

the real reason you have a membership there (refuge) as many of them are

Greetings and hello! As a proud member of IIDB I'd like to de-lurk for a moment to say that possibly one of the reasons she (along with other self-identified conservatives and moderates) 'cuddles up' with us (whatever that means) is because we're by and large more enjoyable people to be around.

That's just fine with me. I think like-minded fellowship is perfect. I only wish that CCC's rules could be respected by all you cuddly and most enjoyable people around.

Oh, I know, it's just too much to ask.

:sigh:

I don't really understand what you are implying here, sister.
And I didn't say I went there for refuge...just that some did.
I went, as I have stated, to fellowship with people who don't visit here anymore, and who are my friends.

I am sorry if I disappoint you. I often disappoint myself as well. And I have apologised for my judgemental postings - but I don't see what I have to apologise for in praying for this forum.
I love this place, I love those here. There are also people I love at IIDB.
And God loves them all as well.

Forgive me where I have offended you, sister.
But please - if you want to accuse me, at least tell me what you are accusing me of!

Well, I have forgiven everyone at IIDB. What I am waiting for is some show of grace and charity from them.

And I hope to be allowed to continue asking them for those things.

But only when they come to CCC.

:prayer:

I have never, and will never 'take up arms' against my brothers and sisters.
I am more sorry than I can say that you believe that I would.

Unsubscribing -- can't cope with this.

Just wondering, have you ever been there?
I have; over a year ago while still on staff I was directed by a Sr. member of staff to a thread over there that might have had some impact on a report I was working. Just recently I started going back to lurk. What I find hilarious and yet ultimately sad is how people post over there who call for others here to act like Christians. I have discovered people over there using horrible language, making unfounded accusations (false witness anyone?) and basically spreading rumors who come back over here and decide to pontificate about other folks behave. My God tells us to act like Christians wherever we are not just when we are in a supposed "Christian" atmosphere.

Perhaps you hit a bad day!
Someone who had glanced at what was going on here three times may have a very poor view of this forum too....

To be honest, whilst I've seen bad language and some mockery at IIDB, I have never seen anything even approaching the nastiness and vindictiveness i have seen here recently. :sigh:

It's sad that some have had to take refuge from a Christian forum on an atheist one - but frankly, it is nicer there than here at the moment!
I mean no disrespect but you have got to be kidding.

Amen brother. Integrity is what we do when no one is looking (or when we think no one is)

Criada did send me a really sweet note via PM and I believe she is sincere,
I also asked her forgiveness if I misunderstood what she said here.
And our convo ended in sisterly friendship and grace.

What those judging us, and condemning us and refusing to forgive us, need to
know is that at the end of the day, the brethren show they are brethren, because as of course
none of us are perfect, but the brethren forgive one another and issue grace to one another.
We have had a lot of junk to deal with in this forum, from outside, inside and from both sides.
Those of us who some consider monsters who have disagreed with others here, and like Peter and Paul
have had some knock down drag outs, at the end of the day have made amends and prove
Jesus' words true, that we are known by how we do love one another.:hug::hug:

Can those who have judged us (harshly at that) say the same?
(I guess not, since they are still spewing forth in front of unbelievers
being the kind of witness they accuse us of being.... things that should cause pause)

I have a word of comfort -- God sees all plans, traps and snares that are set against Him (thru us).

He keeps perfect record and every idle word that they speak will be reconciled one day. He doesn't forget.

I just wish they wouldn't bring it in here, or see all those posts in the ecumenical forum:( I honestly don't think they will back off until they "close" this forum.......:sigh: Maybe it will be the last hazzah before this site goes back to being more conservative to begin with???

I honestly think that is what the "agenda" was with people coming in here to cause problems and make us look bad from the beginning... Ever since this forum was opened it seems that people could just NOT resist to meddle and cause problems. I don't see how in the world they can justify closing down this forum at this point...

This is all very frustrating..

Honestly Epiphany, even IF things were going GREAT in all the forums, other nonCF forum hacks would still make us their hobby... I've seen others like this mock absolutely everything - even when you're doing nothing wrong... they just change it to how "good" you are and the 'self righteous' attacks.
Seriously, it doesn't matter either way, they find material to use - or the standby ad hom.

IT SAYS MORE ABOUT THEM THAN US to spend hours of their days watching other people to criticize & mock.

*wonders if some don't still live in mom's basement eating off 1970's tv trays*?

I think because they'd rather not let the daylight in...hence using other sites......personally, I'd like to see mods restricted from using other sites like that to sspread hatred about other Christians.....If it is found out that mods are doing such things, they get yanked automatically....but thats just me^_^

It's all about accountability.........Funny, I see some of the same people who complained about pre 7-7-7 staff now acting a lot worse and more secretive than those that they complained about...........maybe its the whole power trip thing?????? There seems to be a growing trend of harassment of staff in many of these threads. If I see anymore of this I will start locking down threads.

I dont see harrassment of staff when i read through this personally. I do see members feeling staff wont allow an opinion to be stated without being found in violation. Speaking frankly as a member, i'm placing the blame no where, but i will say this forum has seemed awfully oppressive and member unfriendly. Maybe this is now changing for the better, i certainly hope. It's feeling like we cant say how we feel in our own forum that a lot of folks are concerned about. How would you suggest we address this and solve it quickly for the good of the forum? I've tried a few ways, other folks have tried, but i am willing to go further

I know there are ways to take care of things here and it need not be hard to do i dont think.

I'm seeing harrassment and it is making me angry to see it.

And I am seeing some plain ugly comments and some blatant untruths.

Jim47 didn't take away your FSRs folks. The FSRs need to be changed to guidelines and the if you are angry that your subforum will not have subforums rules - well, you need to take that up with the owner and not Jim47.
